Another effect is this. Probably won't explore it too much because it looks far more complex, but the glow is interesting. Tips/ideas?

Visually these are much less impressive in my opinion.

I agree with that. What do you think of the carapace though? He's used a gloss varnish as well.

You don't need to run faster than the monsters, only faster than your friends...

I think it is to glossy. Especially with that colour scheme. Black with a lot of reflextivenesd has so much light reflecting in it. That mashesh with his blue ariad, where the eye is going naturaly, because of the bright colours. If you paint them all xenomorph you might want the gloss, but I do not like it. Ehqt is the carapace made of? I thought it was dence, not slimy.

Maybe want to check how did that guy the effect. Is very similar but have purple (old GW Midnight / Nagaroth) for Base. No is the same inner bright but maybe can help add the purple for more contrast of colours.

You can try aply a glaze of Druchi Violet / Carroburg Crimson for add tone and reaply a wash of white/baharrot blue for get the inner glow.

Looking for a Colour Scheme for my army find another one very nice (almost for me).

My friend is starting tyranids at the same time, and he’s using this scheme (Fungus Nids by Blue Table Painting)

I agree the purple does look pretty good on that! Doesn’t really look like it’s glowing from within but if I combined the purple and the glow I’ve been trying...
