Let me put it this way: Any list with enough anti-tank to reasonably deal with 4-6 Leman Russ tanks will easily be able to make a Baneblade a wasted investment. That's actually a good amount of lists, and in fact if your list can't deal with 4-6 Leman Russ tanks then it's probably a bad list.

A list that can deal with 4 to 6 LRBT at the 2000 pt level is not easy to establish.
Proof is missing here.

Here are army lists with 48 or more T8 3+ wounds:

https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/746217.page [this one has 60 at 1500]

Now, I'm not going to post more lists for you to peruse, but hopefully you get the idea: 4 Leman Russes (or equivalent wounds) is fairly common, and not being able to deal with them is actually going to be a problem for a list.

If you can deal with 48 wounds over the course of the game (4 Leman Russes) then you can deal with 26 wounds (a single Baneblade) in one turn fairly easily.

Plus (unless you're Valhallan, when it only happens near death) it's stats degrade, which 48 regular dudes with 3+ Saves wouldn't. A superheavy is very much eggs in one basket. A tough basket, but still... all your eggs.

Killing a baneblade in turn 1 is hard with average rolls for the most overpowered armies, absolutely impossible for everyone else.

I'm talking about regular 2000 points lists with one of those superheavies. With the rest of the AM army it should be impossible to the opponent to charge the bandeblade turn 1 and deleting one of the by shooting is not gonna happen in the majortiy of the games played with a list built around it.

I can say if you can't deal with 200+ infantries your list is probably a bad one.

Dealing with 4-6 tanks doesn't mean killing them, but surviving with enough models to avoid getting tabled and meanwhile trying to score more than the opponent. Orks don't have reliable anti tank and they're only effective way to deal with superheavies is simply to ignore them. Against armored lists with 4-6 russes the best rewarding strategy would be to lock them in combat since in 5-7 turns the most effective orks lists could kill max 3 russes on average.

Also drukhari lists with tons of lances can't really kill more than a leman russ per turn but all their anti tank is mounted on paper things, which means by turn 2-3 the AM could have deleted all the drukhari anti tank quite easily.

Indeed, AM is very strong these days.
A 2000 pt list with a Baneblade and 4 LRBT is hard to deal with. We have seem some AM armies (links above) which can eventually pack enough anti-tank. But for an all-comers army this can be really difficult.

List building suggests to take 40% of the army vs. tanks and monsters. But this will not be enough against the above list.
