Your book is from the era when the HH was regarded as an expansion of 40k and the weapon profiles from the BRB are used which is where you'll find your flamestorm cannon profile. The AoDRB has it on page 177 under 'flamer weapons' edit: i am loving the quick reference sheets! they are really nice, i may have mine laminated to keep the edges and corners nice. The wording is kind of wonky, but Agents of the Emperor (including the Talons) are Sworn Brothers to all Loyalist factions where Agents of the Warmaster are Sworn Brothers to all Traitor factions. No, you cannot have Traitor Custodians.

Bikes and attack bikes can get them, and with scout on bikes and the move, that potentially makes it very easy to remove anything smaller than a reaver titan on turn one.
Physical book is available in whw, for any one who is interested.

Except that scout moves still keep you from assaulting 1st turn. So your opponent can still recognize the threat, and shoot, counter assault, or bubble wrap to counter. I'm not saying it's possible, but it would still be a very expensive unit, that would kinda be a Hail Mary across the table with little support to keep it from dying. Like I said, I don't think that multi-bombing with Melta bombs will have a major effect on tactics or army comp over all.

godardc wrote: Thanks, mate ! Do you think the reference sheets are or will worth any money ? I still haven't opened mine I think that (assuming continued popularity of the HH) in 10 years they will be worth about £20 - £40 if left sealed and in 10.0 Gem Mint condition and no more are ever produced. At that point it's main value would be to collectors because plenty of people make sequence sheets of their own that will include all the special rules and up to date weapon profiles. The value would drop to between £5 and £10 if a new edition was released and i think would stay there with occasional spikes in value when a collector gets bought them for Christmas or a birthday by a relative/friend. Currently, i think they are worth between £4 and £7 per sheet individually, and £10 - £15 for both sealed. When they run out of them i think they will be worth between £8 and £10 per sheet with opportunists trying (with varying degrees of success) for between £10 and £15 per sheet. Having just seen the mistake on the to wound chart they are now worth about £2 each, £5 for a sealed pair. Keep 'em and use 'em dude, it'll save wear on your AoDRB!

So I got to play my first game with the new rule book today. I'm quite sad, unfortunately 8th has spoiled me. I found it so clunky and insufferable to painstakingly position my tanks, etc. The low wound count kept throwing me for a loop too.
Back in the closet my Ultramarines go until they make the switch I guess.

But at least positioning and moving tanks matter more. You can actually shock horror have cover with vehicle! I don't recall when I have ever had terrain actually impact vehicle. 1mm sliver visible somewhere and it's same as terrain wasn't there to begin with. Yesterday terrain that gave all sort of effects for vehicles and infantry would have had minimal impact to the game in 8th ed rules...Actually would it mattered in any attack? Doubtful.
Sure this board set up is still way too small terrain wise but christ one would assume it would affect vehicles SOMEHOW. But as it is no effect for vehicles. Infantry would get occassionally something but still fairly well but for vehicles I could remove all terrain and it wouldn't change a thing. Even biggest building there(the one flanked by russ and predator) doesn't help or hinder vehicles there. I even later verified it. No matter what I could always see slice of red regardless of how vehicle was posiitoned and where I looked at it. And if you see even 1mm then the building might just as well not be there.

You are mistaking the game for 40k. It isn't. Think of it as a specialist game now! And to be fair, we played that version of the game for how many years and loved it? I get being spoiled, but its still a good game.

I've played 2 -3k games with the new rulebook one using a All vehicle list (Spartan, 2 Phobos, 3 Rhinos and some Dakka tanks) and one usiing a hugely heavy foot list.
The new rulebook is excellent and has every rule you want in it, where it should be. My local gaming group of 9-10 people all who play HH love the book, so it's good times ahead!

It's a variant of 40k, let's be honest. It's not like they use the Warmaster rules or something. I enjoyed the game I played yesterday, don't get me wrong, but I wish it were using a variant of the 8th edition rules (not least because then we could have played 150 Power Level and I could have worked out my army in five minutes, rather than fighting with Battlescribe for an hour).
Still, Eidolon and an Assault Squad got to leap about killing a couple of squads before getting gunned down by an air strike, so it's all fine. The Kakophoni weren't on form, though. :(

Fighting with battlescribe for a hour!? I know a lot of my "set" points cost. 10 Tacs with a Pf in a rhino with a DB? 180. Phobos with a DB and AC? 250 5 Butchers with devoured with 2 chainfists? 295.
Hell, I can put a list together in.. 3 minutes? It's MUCH easier then making any 40k list, which involves constant page flipping trying to remember if I've paid for every single bit of wargear everywhere.

I know what all my squads are armed with (but not the points costs, since I've not played the game in six months); I look at the models. However, to get Battlescribe to record that takes an inordinate amount of clicking and digging into option trees. For some reason, almost every model with weapon options has something like:
"Replace <original weapon> with:
None (default option)
<original weapon>
<option 1>
<option 2>
..."
Until you go in and change it fron "none" to "<default weapon", it throws a validation error. Whatever the data file writer was drinking at the time must've been good. If I could have a "master file" of my entire army, then copy units from that into a new roster, that'd help, but the program doesn't support it.
Compared to the last time I played 40k; "A Leman Russ is 12 Power, so I'll take two, plus 13 for a Tank Commander, 3 Power each for those three Infantry Squads, ..."
... and now we're off-topic. >

Do you change unit loadouts often? If not have index cards for units.
Though generally I don't worry about those goofy validation errors. But the file creator has certainly screwed up and isn't consistent. Some terminators you set individually(bleh), some you do smartly like justicaerin.
And incidently been considering doing PL for HH but problem is we play even looser than that(above photo. Forces were decided by thinking of scenario, putting up interesting mix of imperials that looks like makes sense for the feel of battle we wanted to make, then eyeballed sons of horus to match nudging with little more due to scenario estimated to be harder to them than blood angels. We didn't actually use ANY sort of point system for that...) so little motivation
