Always been a fan of the ‘Beetle Back’ Warlord.

Whilst the first metal one was awful, the last one (Epic 40k/Armageddon version) was a really nice model, but for me, just didn’t sit that well in the wider 40k aesthetic.

Totally agree, the older plastic one was definitely better. Even though the miniature is extremely basic by today's standards, it's amazing some of the paint jobs that you see on the miniature (and to an extent think the lack of detail is hidden beneath the canopy)

There are quite a few good Warlord proxies about, this is one of my favourites from the sadly no longer trading Steel Crown miniatures, but you can still get it through HLS miniatures. Makes me think of that one piece of artwork from the front of Inferno magazine the once.

I expect I'll be able to get my game, Titanomachia, into print before GW takes a risk on Adeptus Titanicus. I can see why they might be pushing back the release, given how they have so much with broader appeal, but given the number of giant robot games in recent years I think they're underestimating demand.

I'm not sure they are underestimating the demand here. Pushing back the release so they can re-tool to plastic instead of resin seems to show they are expecting much higher sales than originally thought. Also that they seem to have moved the release to the end of the the current necromunda main release cycle makes me think we will be seeing epic close on its heels, though probably with simpler rules for titans since the rumoured rules seems a bit cumbersome for anything but skirmish size games.

Conspiracy theory time! Looking back at the earlier release date rumours and the push up of the release for Necromunda I'm beginning to think that Shadow wars and Adeptus Titanicus were probably gonna follow each other in the release shedule and be a bit of a test for Necromunda and Epic but with the success of Blood Bowl and the rumour reaction for all of the planned specialist games maybe they've decided to bet the farm? Move up Necromunda to after shadow war and move Titanicus to the end of 2018 or beginning of 2019 with the Epic expansion and the main armies being released from the next finacial quarter.

Anyways I'll remove my tinfoil hat now and while I'll admit that this is all probably wishful thinking.... God I can hope!

Maybe I'm letting hope cloud my judgement. I've already been beaten to the punch by Giga-Robo, GKR: Heavy Hitters, and a couple of others.

It might be that they're timing the release of Adeptus Titanicus to the end of the current 40k cycle when all the 40k codexes are released.
