I don't have the Cthulu stuff, but I did the kickstarter for the others. If you want the height of the others, just say the word.

Sure, use whatever system you and your group likes. My system is to fudge the dice so the characters live until the climax then let one or two survive.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

Bones are made of a fairly soft PVC that is injection moulded when means they are fairly bendy, and won't snap. They are also formulated to allow painting (using Reaper paints, but it works with many other acrylics) without priming
the flexibility of the PVC also means you can have much more pronounced undercuts than in many other materials as it can be pulled out of the mould where a harder plastic (eg GW) would break
you can also make much bigger stuff than would be economical in metal
but the moulds are expensive (basically similar in cost to those for other plastics)
the disadvantages to the user are thin stuff (eg swords, spears, ankles) are very bendy, details tend to be softer as well, some solvents in spray primers can react badly with them leaving them permanently sticky
I think, personally, Bones really shines with large models. In my experience I've ditched the few normal 28mm size miniatures in Bones, but have kept the larger monster creatures. They tend to hold better detail and are far more solid. I just find Bones to really suffer on the smaller minis. It's okay for me on some of the bigger ones like Bugbears and the Tre Manor Orcs, but for "human" sized 28mm minis...I can't get on with the stuff.
Creatures/monsters = superb material. Never had trouble priming/painting it so far.

It also works fine for complete mooks. I've painted the goblins and kobolds from bones one, and they work great.
Mouslings must sell, not my poison but someone's sure buying them.
More pin-headed armored good guys. Useful as Paladins, and um... uh... LARPers? Who play Paladins maybe?
Remember that burger you had? Now the cow is back, and she's mad!
Interesting that in the Reaperverse dwarf beards are apparently part of the skull.
They never should have called him shorty.
I assume that Copper Dragons enforce speed limits, bust loitering Wyverns and catch Robber Dragons.
The sphinx glares down on you and you must answer her riddle! "How do I put my shirt on in the morning when my hands are lion claws and I have these honking huge wings sprouting out of my back?"
I just love everything about this ogre, from the rusty armor to the jail door shield. Everything.
And double for the Ogre Matriarch
Great goblin squad, filled with character.
At last! A dwarf jester model! Did you know there is a Jester Character Class? They can control the results of a Wand of Wonder! True story. Now you have the mini for one. Provided you want to play a Dwarf Jester. I imagine his repartee involves a lot of short jokes. A lot.
War pugs! And with a simple conversion you can make your own Pug Dredd!
Spoiler:
I can use this mounted dwarf battle mage to finally start my campaign where a dwarf wizard travels to a village of hill giants to recruit Bigbo on a quest to destroy a magic bracelet (which the giant would end up wearing as a ring).
So there you go, there's more on Reapers site of course.

Soo... is there any rhyme or reason to reaper's releases schedules for their Bones KSs to retail? There are a few goons I'd really like, but I'd prefer to get them in the lighter material (for simple projects, I prefer the cheap durability over pricier pieces with edges that wear faster).
First off Reaper announced that the much beloved size notches are a thing of the past, the new hotness is the 1/4" B or M (for Bones or METAL).
With that mystery solved let's jump into their April releases!!!!one!!
First up is a new fantasy faction that seems to be land version of the iconic Idoneth Deepkin or perhaps a fantasy take on the Aeldari. We'll see if they have legs.
Speaking of which I'm not sure about this one which is described as half of an elf rogue if I'm reading it right. Does she come apart at the waist? Or maybe her back is missing? Or maybe she's only an elf rogue half of the time, like a Jeckle and Hyde werewolf sort of thing? Who knows. Not sure what market there is for half elf rogues.
Pragmatically dressed woman with too much gear.
I really like this fellow from the pose to the roosters on his shield. Not sure I like worth $10, but I do like it.
As a native of the northern wastes Ankoa knows well the dangers of hypothermia and frostbite. That's why he's always careful to put on legwarmers before battling the frost giants.
Or Dire Penguins. DIRE PENGUINS! OMG I need an army of Dire Penguins for my Batman Returns table.
On balance I'd call this release a win, some neat middle of the road figures and DIRE PENGUINS! What more could you want?

I used to use RP spray primer until I got tired of how heavily it went on, obscuring the details of my models. Reaper apparently hasn't reached that stage yet.
Somehow I just found this year's thread, been missing out on IMO some really solid releases - minotaur skeleton and the BIG Eldritch critters top it for me, but also dig them tiny Bones gribblies for horde work. Also unexpected penguin is unexpected!
Dire Shoes
Dire Door Stops
DIre Garden Weasels
Dire Shamwow
So, mimics?
"Fear is freedom! Subjugation is liberation! Contradiction is truth! These are the truths of this world! Surrender to these truths, you pigs in human clothing!" - Satsuki Kiryuin, Kill la Kill
I could have sworn there was actually a Dire Clam in Bones 4 ... Though I was reminded of the Dire Crab, Dire Boar and Dire Crocodile coming down the pike. "Dire Consequences" indeed
Posting before someone accuses Reaper of stealing the 'flying' Dragon Turtle idea from GW's new Idoneth sea aelves.
