Thanks for the posters everyone.
I've printed some out and everything seems to be working fine so far.
They should make a fine addition to my collection.

Really loving the streams so far. The chemistry you lot have together is great and the gangs and terrain look amazing.
A small suggestion for the stream is to leave the dice cam permanently on screen as a small box in the top left/right in the empty space. It would mean rolls aren't missed and less work for Sam/Steve running the behind the scenes.
Also I think I know the theme song for the Baby Oil Boys. Macho Man by the Village People (can't link as new user on DakkaDakka).

Thanks loads, i'm glad you're enjoying them. We've all been friends and played all sorts against each other for a fair while now so hopefully the chemistry bit comes naturally
Yeah, the dice cam thing is not quite working imo, I think we should tweak a few things with the format but we'll get there.

Anyway, on to some wip and finished pics of Poo Lagoon, some scatter terrain, tentacles and some simple shacks made using the bulkheads and barricades from the new Necromunda set and a bit of plasticard/rod.

They can also be stacked to make a larger structure......

And a few pics of it installed in the studio.....

Anyhow, I hope you all enjoyed those, i'm working on something a bit different for next Wednesday but it's top secret for now!
Feel free to add any comments, critiques, questions or suggestions. Thanks for looking, Cheers.

I really loved this set. Really nailed the sewagey swamp atmosphere. I like to think that it's so toxic not even reeds can grow there.

How did you do the shallow pools btw? I've never made a set before but I've seen vids of people making rivers and using resin, but then they had a ditch to just pour that into, so these shallow pools and your sludge pit where you guys throw the dice I'm a little unsure of how you've made. The glossy liquid look adds so much atmosphere and plausibility for such a simple difference.

They're two diffent methods really.
For the dice/tox pits I have a full container, In that case it's a case of painting the piece completely then pouring 'Vallejo Still Water' in a couple of 3mm layers.
For the Poo Lagoon Swamps I made a ring of cat litter and various grades of sand, set them with a flood of pva glue, painted them then painted a layer of 'Vallejo Still Water' then poured a mm or two on top.

I've made a poster for Tom's gang. It's a bit rough and goofy, but you can use if you want Not sure how well it prints :/

I based it off KISS' destroyer album art.

Hey Alex, thanks for a look behind the scenes and for the photos of the gangs, they look great.

I am new to necromunda but I found your streams really entertaining and easy to follow and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Hope you guys can find a way to set up a dedicated dice cam, it would make the action easier to follow as you go.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks, guys everything has printed out nicely. I've had an experiment and the posters are going up just fine. I'd worried that the ink would bleed as I fixed them or overpainted and stained them but its all going well now.
A couple of cheeky teasers in the following pics.......

Thanks for looking. I always find behind the scenes stuff interesting so i'm glad some others do too. Glad you're keeping up, even if we're not. The cam is coming, possibly. I was chatting to Ben and the tech guys about it today so with some luck we can get something sorted by Wednesday.

Anyhow, I finally got round to a few quick snaps of Ben's very much wip gang inbetween me fiddling with posters and painting last weeks donation graffiti today. Here we go......

Could it really be him?????

Thanks for looking guys, i've got a good chunk of fresh stuff to catch you guys up with at this stage but this will have to do for now!!!!
Cheers.

Sometimes it's nice not to take a game too seriously. The new rules, for instance, are a bit of a joke for now. Looking forward to Gang War 2 in the next few days.
Hopefully we get a decent compendium after the main gangs have been released.

Here's a propaganda poster which is definitely, completely, 100% put up by the Revolting Mutants. Ignore the uncharacteristically neat, sophisticated text and the weirdly specific address for something which can be seen by the entire Underspire. This is a completely legit recruiting effort by the scum of the low hive. Yep.

The terrain looks rather good, wasn't too sure about the graffiti initially when Lewis started it but it's come along nicely and I might have to nab the idea when I get around to sorting out my own Necromunda scenery! I think it was Tom that mentioned getting some posters done up then shrunk down and printed out to to add some extra detail but did anything come of that?

Here's a poster for Tom's gang. Don't know if you still need any, but I got inspired the the Poo Lagoon .

Cheers, this is really just some simple stuff. The painting and detailing on the buildings is okay and would pass muster but it's the graffiti and posters etc that start to give some real character. Also, that's a fun thing to do, although it does just take a leap of faith to start trashing perfectly acceptable terrain to take it to the next level.

AutovonBotsmark wrote: This is a completely legit recruiting effort by the scum of the low hive. Yep.

Nice, seems legit.

Nice to see you here dude. Not sure if you've tried a video or two yet but they're getting better, slowly as we get better with the rules and work out some camera formats. We even got a dicecam!

Ha ha, the Snowglobes aren't in a rush to revisit but i'm sure that at least one of the other gangs will lose their way down there at some point. That billboard should make a fine addition.

Okay, on to some WIP pics of the House of Noods for your delectation.

My cat is none too impressed.

Thanks for looking everyone and sorry this update took so long. I've been busy with secret stuff for next Wednesday's game!!!
Cheers.

I had been watching the painting and playing 40k on Games night, and was nice to see this as well. its been great to have on, while i'm getting back into the hobby after a hiatus, painting up my marines. Inspiring as well for me to make some more terrain

And getting so close to a celebrity talking to you on Dakka. I work in Bristol, Temple Meads, but used to be on Welsh Back. And i always try to keep an eye out for the Yogscast, but i have failed so far :(

Cheers, i'm glad you're getting back into the hobby and locally too. Bristol scene is generally pretty good with decent choices of clubs for you to pick from, one is bound to suit you.
Glad you're getting inspired by the blog and videos, nothing is rocket science it just takes a bit of effort to get going again but after that it becomes habitual like going to the gym, cooking home meals or ironing your shirts.
Keep your eyes peeled, we're out there somewhere.

So, a small update for you guys and gals today. I've spent a bit of time going a bit further with my Escher gang, The Atomic Snowglobes and took a few quick snaps. The Escher pics on page 1and to an extent Lewis' Goliaths are a good example of how I approach an army when I need it somewhat playable quickly.
I can't abide playing with unpainted models so I find that if I batch paint and.......
1) pick a base colour, do a few drybrushes, some passable highlights or a terrible zenithal spray highlight
2) pick out weapons, skin, or any other prominent focal points without getting bogged down in tonnes of detail
3) do some basing
......that the models tend to look fine on the tabletop. It's generally clear what units are what and who's armed with important stuff.
After that i'll play some games, decide if I need to make changes, add some stuff to the army and bring everything up to this standard.
Then if i'm enjoying myself i'll commit and take everything a few steps further. See below.

All in all i'm pretty happy where there are heading and now that the brunt of the work is out of the way i'm looking forward to finishing them at my leisure. There's still plenty to do on these gals if I feel the need.

Anyway, thanks for looking.

Game 7 now up.
Personally I think that this is the best we've made so far in terms of it being easy to watch, good camera, clear to understand, dice cam, better at rules, run down of the gangs, explanation of what we're doing, a bit of funnies etc
Enjoy.....

Cheers, there's so much detail to pick out on these new sculpts but slowly getting there.
I'm certainly feeling like I'm over the hump now.
The House of Noods is a bit of a compromise. There was a bit of me that wanted to really tech, grime and 'Bladerunner' it up and another that wanted it super clean and traditional so that you could borrow it and we could start playing Bushido one day.
