Certainly. These master castings are what I consider the 'right size' for their intended use, but due to shrinkage from another stage of moulding and casting, the resultant production castings would be too small. So I need to rework and resize them, have them reprinted and then go through the various manufacturing stages. This will take a while and they need to find their place in the production queue, so won't be on sale until later in the year.

So these are not limited edition, just a limited number of castings which I am selling for those who want them now, rather than waiting until later. Being master castings, they're generally a little bit sharper than their production equivalent. And selling them means I don't make a total loss on the investment already made.

OK, thank you. I ordered some now, and it is good to know that more will be available later.

Statuesque Miniatures is pleased to announce the release of Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW – Berets, rounding out the Heroic Scale NARROW range to match the choices available in other sizes.

The Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW - Berets set, featuring fetching military-style berets, is designed to allow you to convert your heroic scale miniatures.

Whereas the SMA301-307 Heroic Scale range is great for converting male figures such as heavily armoured space knights or troopers in fatigues and body armour, the Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW - Berets set is designed specifically for converting heroic scale female figures, or more slight heroic scale figures in general.

SMA353 Heroic Scale Female Heads NARROW - Berets is available as a New Release Special Offer for only £4.25, saving over 10%.

Don't forget to check out the comparison photos on my blog for various test conversion using all sizes of Statuesque Female Heads.

This offer will run until Sunday 12th of August, or while stocks last.

Spotted on Twitter:

I've finished all the pieces for the first chapter of my 'Left at the Bottom of the Garden' range: two cloth dolls, a beanbag cat, a toy penguin, two toy hoodie crows and three toy rats, singing. They'll be sent off for printing on Monday.

There is something delightfully whimsical about these sculpts, I wonder how they'll size up next to this little one:

From Facebook:

The toys are ready to off for master moulding. They're very excited. The rats are singing a travelling song.

Also got a reply with regards to how they size up alongside Lillie, the girl with the lantern in the previous post:

They're of a similar height to Lillie but bulkier. Initially, I considered making dolls *for* Lillie, but they would have been ridiculously small. In the end, after some test prints of various sizes, I decided to make them still small, but nice and chunky with good sized details, rather than constrain myself matching existing scales. That said, I think they work nicely along with my 'warhammer' scale terrain.

edit.

Even better!

"You ok there? What you shooting at?" - A quick comparison shot with a ubiquitous big armoured guy with a gun (lightly converted).

My priority with this range was to create nice wee objects - not too big and not too small, with bold detail size. As such, I didn't worry too much about them matching existing miniatures ranges but spent a lot of time considering various test prints for sizing.

That said, I think they'd still work well with many ranges as some kind of (slightly horrifying) oversized, animated toys. In time though they'll have toy adversaries from the world of 'Left at the Bottom of the Garden'.

http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/c/4617225/1/reduced-to-clear.html

I've made the decision that I will no longer be producing or selling the Statuesque Pulp Alley range going forward. As such the entire available range is reduced by 25-44% to clear existing stock.

I had initially hoped to take production in house, which is why some figures have been unavailable for a while. However, I have now realised I need to focus my time and resources on new ranges, such as the Left at the Bottom of the Garden figures. Kickstarters really are the only viable way to release figures now, but they take a lot of work and that doesn't leave time for me to properly sort production of the Pulp Alley range.

Added to that, the Statuesque Pulp Alley range no longer represents the entirety of the Pulp Alley miniatures line, with Pulp Alley themselves having produced more figures independently. In the beginning, I organised the production of the range, shipping stock out to the US, but now I believe Pulp Alley are producing all the figures in the States. As such, the range will continue to be available through them.

I'm proud of the Statuesque Pulp Alley range, but don't have any great attachment to them as they're not my character designs. Without having to worry about restocking (or moulding and casting) the Pulp Alley range I'll be able to concentrate on getting the characters in my head into metal.

Please note, some of the figures in the range are already extemely limited so if you're wanting something, best grab them soon!

Sad to see these go, they're a fun bunch of sculpts, and well worth grabbing while you can

Statuesque Miniatures

The eagle-eyed amongst you might have noticed that various items in the Statuesque Miniatures catalogue are either out of stock or have disappeared from the webshop. There are different reasons for this depending on the item, so I thought I'd go over why and when things might start appearing again.
The bulk of the Heroic Scale Female Heads ranges - both Large and Small - should be available again in the next couple of weeks. I can't guarantee all the different sets will be available again immediately, but the most popular sets will be on sale again soon. The Heroic Scale Female Heads, along with the Left at the Bottom of the Garden toys, are all cast in-house by myself.
A large number of my figures have been disappearing from the shop over the past few months, as stock was sold. I had hoped to start casting those figures myself in the past year, but with the Coronavirus pandemic I haven't been able to collect all the moulds and master castings from the contract casters. Unfortunately, a drop in quality from the casters has meant I'm not willing to order any restocks. However, many of the figures will be made available again eventually, I just can't say exactly when. I won't be selling any ranges to other manufacturers.
Please note, I don't take orders for items I don't have in stock, so if it's available to buy, it's in stock and ready to go.

Was wondering where little Lily Poots had gone off to.

But fair enough to Andrew wanting to keep the quality up, it's why I bought so much from him in the past and despite the fethery going on right now, will keep buying from him, extra costs be damned.

That's the new Statuesque Miniatures shop up and running now. I'm still adding a few products*, but all the popular stuff that's available is in stock and ready to buy.

*I know I should have sorted all that before switching to the new shop, but I didn't want to pay for another month on the old shop, so was a bit pressed for time...

Hey EU customers! It's just over one month until the low-value VAT exemption ends for orders under 22 euros.

From July 1st I will open an Etsy shop for EU (and Norway) customers. This will mean you can place orders up to 150 euros and pay VAT at the point of sale, and you will not receive a VAT bill or handling fee from your postal service before delivery.
That does mean that EU prices will be 17-27% higher, depending on your country's VAT rate - due to Etsy fees I cannot reduce the net prices to mitigate the added VAT. But avoiding a 6-24 euro handling fee is surely a bonus.

I had hoped to collect EU VAT through my shop, but the UK Government has so far failed to negotiate direct access to the VAT scheme for British businesses. This might change in the future, but as it stands I would have to appoint an EU-based intermediary, at the cost of hundreds of pounds per month. So Etsy it is.

Until then though, you can still receive orders under 22 euros and not have to worry about VAT and handling fees. But please do check the ordering information:

***The following information applies to EU and Norway customers only. For rest of world orders import rules are the same as they were prior to July 2021. Nothing has changed for you.***

It's the 1st of July and I'm happy to say the Statuesque Miniatures Etsy shop is now open for orders from the EU and Norway. This coincides with the new EU VAT rules and is a definitely a GOOD THING for EU (and Norway) customers, given the situation since January 1st.

By ordering through Etsy, EU and Norway customers can pay VAT at checkout, avoiding additional costs and fees before delivery.

Statuesque Miniatures Etsy prices without VAT are 10% off for EU and Norway customers - I can't afford to entirely mitigate the VAT, but I hope that helps.

For EU customers:
---For all orders under 150 Euro, Etsy will collect VAT at checkout, at your country's rate.
---There should be no additional 'handling fees' from your postal service.
---For orders over 150 Euro, Etsy will not collect VAT, and VAT, handling fees and potentially duty will be collected by your postal service before delivery is made.

For Norway customers:
---Etsy will collect VAT at 25% at checkout on all orders.
---There should be no additional 'handling fees' from your postal service.

Statuesque Miniatures is not UK VAT registered - no UK VAT is included in either the Statuesque shop prices or the Statuesque Etsy prices.

Please note, not all Statuesque Miniatures products are listed in the Statuesque Miniatures Etsy shop - I have limited Etsy items to products I cast myself. More Etsy items will be added in due course. However, if there's something you'd like to order that isn't listed Etsy, please get in touch and I'll see what I can do.

I strongly recommend all EU and Norway customers order through the Statuesque Miniatures Etsy shop. You can still order on the Statuesque website, but it is likely all orders made though this site will be subject to VAT and handling fees. For more information, see HERE.

Hopefully, in time, I'll be able to collect EU VAT through the Statuesque shop. There are various solutions, but I want to see how things go before I implement anything. In the meantime, the Statuesque Miniatures Etsy shop provides a fool-proof way to allow EU and Norway customers to avoid the dreaded handling fees.

Nice that there's already a marketplace that can handle the paperwork for small creators. Hopefully the functionally illiterate sociopaths who work at Slovenian customs will actually acknowledge that duties have been pre-paid...

It should be pretty straight-forward for them. Etsy's IOSS VAT number is in the 'electronic data' created with the postage label, so they shouldn't really need to do anything other than release packages to the postal service.

Because I have a webshop for that and many happy US customers, and many from around the world too!

https://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/

The Etsy shop fulfils a specific role in collecting EU and Norway tax, which I can’t do through my webshop. With the high US personal import threshold ($800 I think?), it’s not an issue for US orders. Costs to me are higher selling through Etsy and as a tiny, tiny business, yet one that is my only source of income, every little helps.

Ok, update on the Etsy shop...

I'm now selling on Etsy to the following EU countries only (and Norway):
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden.

I have confirmed (though laboriously checking local postal service websites) that those countries *do not* collect handling fees when VAT is paid at checkout on Etsy.

The intention of the new EU VAT import rules were that no additional fees would be due if VAT was paid at checkout - the customer would make payment at checkout only. However, various countries have implemented fees, or it is unclear at the moment if they will do so. This is very disappointing.

I've put together a long list of the procedures for each EU member state. I've included details of potential fees and links to where I found the information. I have suspended Etsy sales to any EU country that collects handling fees when VAT has already been paid at checkout.

It does seem fees may have gone down in many countries, but I want Etsy sales to have no additional costs involved. You can all still order through the Statuesque website.

No existing Etsy orders are affected.
