I really wish I had time to play this at my club, as it seems to have dang near sold out at all three shops near me, and I’m liking most everything about it so far. Assuming boxes sold=people playing it should have a nice base of players if I can carve out some time.

FFG did just announce some organized league play as well, seems interesting and I’m going to try to get involved.

I'm kinda unsure they should have launched the game with only 1 commander per side, with rebels not getting their second until the end of may or so. It didn't sell amazing in my area, I went in to buy some of it, lots of it on the shelf and there was about 10-20 people playing magic instead.

I'm still getting some of it built, plus leaving the vehicles in sub assembly for painting.

Myself and a friend have about 5/4 games under us atm. We are liking it alot. Nearly got all the expansions too at this stage. Plays fast and the games have been much closer then or WH40K games. So far all games went right to the last turn. No you have lost on first turn.

We've played a few test games and like the system, but lack of diversity in the range is stymieing it right now. Locally we didn't get into X wing until wave 4 so there was choice in squad building, Legion is almost at that point I think, when everything that has been announced is available I'll look to pick up more.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I definitely think it needs operative Chewie and one more Imperial commander in addition to what's been announced to feel properly fleshed out.

Still haven't actually gotten to play a game yet.

So I am just a painting fool until I do.

Eventually, but I think its more important to have the option to leave out Vader and Veers before additional optional picks like Operatives.

No real argument from me, but I just thought one of the best counters to a wookie would be a noghri. A stormtrooper wouldn't be it, and we haven't seen a regular unit of the Empire compare to them, either. Maybe if we had actually gotten Imperial Commandos?

It’s a fun game. I don’t get what people expect. Complaints around how many units are out. The release rate is very good for a company like FFG.

FFG has a problem of getting its players to live in the future. It's nice to know there's more coming, but without a firm release date, a lot of people feel like its taking forever to get out things like Boba Fett and Han that were exciting announcements 3 months ago that won't likely see the actual table until August or so. They seem to have something like a 4 month gap between product announcements and release, and that's a third of a year each product ends up in the limbo between knowing the game will have it, and it not really being part of the game.

While the GW two week notice thing is a bit short, FFGs several month thing is a bit long. I’d prefer to see the stuff shown off one month in advance.

It’s a terrible idea to compare a 30 year old mini company that is largest in the world to a small new to the mini market company. You will always be left wanted and expect more then they are capable of.

So when do we think we will get an Ewok warrior squad? I am totally looking forward to that!

If I can't have a Gungan Army, I want Ewoks.

Thanks,

I know I'd spend too much money on a battle droid army.

I like rebels and imperials. but... mmm droids are the good stuff.

I'm more on the Clones' side, but otherwise, agreed.

Prequel era stuff would kill the game stone dead. Let's stick to the good bits of the galaxy please.

I doubt that if done at the proper time. If it comes out next year, possibly right, if it happened right now, they'd be competing with themselves. 5 years from now? Eh, odds are reduced. It's not like Horus Heresy is killing 40K at all, but 40K is fairly well established on its own (and most models can be used back and forth).

Not at all.

Yes, the prequels had bad dialogue and acting. None of which would be on the tabletop. Most of the material would be drawn from the Clone Wars TV show anyway, which was very good, so you can escape the taint.

Besides. It is a pretty well established rule of thumb that any table top miniature game needs 4 or so factions to be viable. Xwing has gotten away with it, but I don't think legion can in the long run. People will get really really bored of mirror matches very quickly. Add the CIS and Republic and you get enough diversity to keep it interesting.

I was holding out for Droids too, but I must admit I like the look of the Imperial Army Mudtroopers and the Marder-Walker.
