How does it compare to the 1st game? I got the first one for free on Xbox a while ago, but I just played it once.. it felt kinda dull. Reminded me a lot of the Dragon Age 3 multiplayer, which I also wanted to like a lot but just didn't.

IMO, it added a lot of needed variety between characters with thee addition of classes, and a proper loot system that works more to your favor than the previous one.

More enemies as well, never a bad thing.

Managed to finally beat it, despite the final map still being somewhat bugged as admitted by the devs. But a fun ride nonetheless. I'm looking forward to seeing what the first DLC will bring.

Not a real complaint, but I wish you could search for players by name and add them as friends. Would make getting togetter a good Group easier

Yeah it is annoying. You can probably do it on Steam by going to your profile > Friends > Recently played with and adding them through that.

Anyone know how to increase hero power as quickly as possible? I really enjoy the game and all but that difficulty gating is the worst I've seen.

Levelling up. Every level adds 10. Otherwise gear from crates is based on highest level seen (doesn't matter what slot) and some rng. My advice is to save commendation chests and use them once you're ready to move into champion

Thanks.

I take it you'd have to play on Recruit for each career? As in if Kruber is level 30 and has high gear wbut Bardin is low level and with bad gear would you have to play on Recruit as Bardin? Or as Bardin could you play on a higher difficulty?

No, you can take chests to any character and open them if you want a slightly easier start, and necklaces, charms, and trinkets are usable by any character. I'd say once you have veteran down somewhat reliably you should go straight to that with a new character instead of recruit

It's only a wish I have. Along with Kerillian to not feeling the urge to insult entire party every 20 seconds, although I do miss her "hello little bomb, you and I are going to achieve great things together".

Wait for mods, people are already planning it.

She does say "Mayfly" a lot.

They also rolled out a patch just now with some more fixes, the Skittergate map is still broken though.

I've also noticed that the sleeping place of the Elf is empty on my playthroughs. Every other character has a bedroll and some personal items at a place on the map, but Kerillian's spot, where at first there was a bed and some other stuff, there's now nothing more than a few leafs and branches.

Krieg! What a hole...

When you hit level 10 with a hero, they get their own dedicated room rather than a crummy spot in the hall.

Ah thanks, MUST INVESTIGATE.

Okay, found her spot, it's overlooking the practice range. Not much of an upgrade, but oh well.

Also, what are the criteria for filling the empty picture frames around the keep?

Aye it is strangely adictive, sort of like wine and women With pale skin and dark hair.
But on another note, have anyone gotten a shild as loot? I keep getting one handed weapons for my mercanery. Or is it intended to be used one handed?

There is a shield/mace and shield/sword for kruber. Dwarf gets shield/axe and shield/hammer

I'm trying Kruber with a mace and shield combo right now, a bit clunky on the attack, but so damned godly with a stamina of five. Nothing like wading into a horde with shield raised while the others hack away at either side of you. Or to pop his ability and give yourself some breathing space.

Dealing with vanilla Rat Ogres is also a bit less of a hassle now, as tanking their blows, while still taxing, is less likely to slam you away from the outset.

I also finally have a regular handgun for Kruber, while low on shot, I do like being able to snipe away Storm Vermin and their ilk from a distance. Can't wait to see how his alternate classes pan out.

Merc is a good mix of both ranged and melee, while being the horde DPS class (faster attacks when you hit 3+ enemies, really good if your team is lacking horde killing), huntsman is an ok ranged class (since it got nerfed from a figurative artillery piece literally 2 shotting anything), but overshadowed by any other ranged class (i.e. pyro sienna or bounty hunter saltz), and foot knight is one of the best tanks (on par with ironbreaker bardin) and has an amazing class ability because it recharges in <30 seconds and stuns anything, bosses included (for nonstop spam, get pot duration +50% on an orange charm, chug a purple pot, and by the time your charge is finished, it'll be fully charged again since the duration trait also affects the effect of pots as a hidden effect).

Shame on the huntsman, but huzzah for the foot knight.

I've already decided that if I really want to do something ranged, I'll stick with Kerillian, for who I've got a nice bow with plenty of arrows and the ability to pierce two targets at once. Plus her special ability, the seeking arrows, is damned pleasing to use when confronted by multiple elites.

Kerillian is a great ranged character (and the lvl 25 talent to regen 50% of your ammo whenever her ability is used is amazing). Don't get me wrong, huntsman can still be good it's just not the boss mulcher it was. If you can aim well, he also has infinite ammo (and can get a talent to give 2 ammo per headshot instead of 1). Outside of legend difficulty it's generally better to have a character and class you like over whatever is the meta.

I'm a filthy casual, I don't worry about meta and stuff like that, nor do I play a lot of games on the highest difficulty.
