Back in 7th and earlier I always ran masters of ordnance, who fired a basilisk shot that always scattered 3d6" from the target, unless you got a hit on the scatter die, where it only scattered 2d6". I swear that crazy sob managed to get a direct hit almost every game, and often times I would fire him at point blank ranges (I'm talking less than 12" away) It became a running gag that he never missed, and whenever he did, he'd scatter it into something that would turn out to be a better target

Recently had a game against a blood angels player. I was running some catachans and had a company commander with power fist/plasma pistol. He had charged a squad of nasty cqc jumpack guys at the officer and some guardsmen. The company commander proceeds to take 6 thunder hammer wounds and pass every invuln. In the following shooting phase, he proceeded to fix bayonets, fist 3 Marines to death, then overcharge his plasma pistol, kill another guy, and wiped the rest in the actual cqc phase. He earned the nickname "Mr.Fister" after that game.

I'm becoming notorious for overcharging plasma without rerolls at my group as well. Doesn't matter if I have -1 mods or even overwatch, I will overcharge and 9/10 not only do I not die, it kills whatever it's aimed at. We've seen single guardsmen kill 4x their points in models with a single volley unmodified with a pretty disturbing regularity. Not sure why I'm the plasma whisperer, but even my executioner tank gets away with it, and that thing can put out up to 18 plasma shots a turn.

Oh wait, in game.

And how is it going ?

Not too bad. Having to get a 2nd car (first one died after 6 weeks) didn't help. But I have a fun job, and I'm getting to see a bit of the country.

Actually not me doing this but was in an Apoc level 3 VS 3 narrative game I joined back in early 7th edition. The mission is to destory / defend a facilitate. We attackers have 1 IK, the opponent has 1 Baneblade, the rest are small stuff.

It should be somewhere 4th turn when the IK kills the last opponent's LR battle tank and consolidate looming towards the Baneblade, the opponent shoot everything into the Knight it still has 2HP left. At this moment, one desperate Guardsmen Sergeant being forgotten behind the enemy line stands up 3" from the knight, raise his plasma pistol and shot into the back of the berhemoth, pentrated, a SIX is rolled on damage table and the knight explode with the second SIX, the explosion hit the baneblade with Str D!!! then third SIX is rolled and the Baneblade exploded as well. Causing another StrD that destroy the targetted building and wins us the game

After all dust are settled, that brave / dumpest / reckless sergeant is still unharmed. lol lol

Off the top of my head...

Tactical Sergeant solo charged 30 kroot, killed the shaper, swept the 29 other Kroot.

Decided to hold my ground with a pair of bolter marines against a Archon with a shadowfield by himself. Gunned him down after breaking the shadowfield first shot.

Another tactical sergeant solo charged a Nurgle Sorceror on Bike, gutted the cur with his Chainsword.

Huh. All of my cool moments come from my casual lists. I should play them more often!

In 6th, I once accepted invisible Eldrad's challenge with a Flash Git Kaptin. Neither of them saw that headbutt coming.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Not mine, but my brothers.

Spearhead, back in 5th, and it's a mix of Orks, Space Marines and various other factions against a full Imperial Guard armoured column (Leman Russes and a Shadowsword).

His Deff Dread, armed with a rokkit launcher and kustom mega blasta gets close enough to the Shadowsword, and decides, in the truest Orky fashion, to shoot the big 'un.

Missile, true to it's name, misses. The mega blasta hits though, and causes an Explodes! result. However, because this is a Superheavy in 5th, this causes more rolls on the destruction chart. Rolls again for damage. 6. More Explodes! Rolls again. 6. More Explodes! Rolls a last time, 6. Explodes, and destroys the whole tank in one shot.

Roll for blast radius - 6. The explosion of the tank takes out the two Leman Russes flanking it, and doesn''t harm the Deff Dread at all.

The store manager (who owned the now-smouldering Shadowsword) demands he rolls his dice again, to check for fixes.
He rolls.

I ran over someone in my car four years ago because they slept with my wife. Saw em walking, thought 'ah' and swerved right into him. Watched his head bounce off the windshield, not sure what happened after that since I just kept driving. Just one of those impulse things, you know? It was late and no one was around. Didn't bother to check the news and I sure as hell didn't ask around about him after. Took the car to a guy, got it fixed. He wrote on the repair bill that I clipped a deer.

I once spent an absurd amount of money per figure on little plastic soldiers and countless hours painting and assembling them myself hoping to have a lot of fun basically playing DND in space in an overblown hyper metal bassass universe with about a million logical inconsistencies. But it worked!

Seriously, whenever I stop to think about 40k it is just absurd but damn if I'm not hooked on the fluff.

Krieg! What a hole...

Two Grenadiers blowing a Stompa with one melta gun shot each, they died in the explosion, as is only proper for Kriegsmen.

Back in 4th edition I death-or-gloried my beefed up chapter master against a land raider's tank shock. I mean he had the works; power first, jump pack, artificer armor, iron halo, ect. He was also at full wounds.

He managed to immobilize it.

My Company Champion, Brother Bermudez, is foolhardy in the extreme and almost never loses a duel, because he fights under the gaze of Him on Terra. Whenever an enemy character gets close I fling Bermudez at them and trust in the Emperor.

His best moment was back in 7th edition, when he killed two Ork warbosses and a Killa Kan character (the latter with a krak grenade) in a single game. He has also defeated Ahriman, Gazghull, and various unnamed characters. Once, in a profoundly stupid Apocalypse game, he actually killed multiple Gazghulls.

Bermudez' crowning achievement in 8th edition has been out-duelling Abaddon the Despoiler, succeeding where Sigismund failed. Abaddon was chewing through my battle brothers so Bermudez charged in and wounded the Despoiler grievously. Then he was buffeted by the blows Abaddon and his terminators, but Bermudez' combat shield held firm (that 5+ might as well be a 2+ rerollable when he's in a sticky situation) and he cut the Despoiler down.

The Emperor is our Shield and our Protector!
