I'm guessing they did pretty rough physical sculpts and then cleaned them up after 3D scanning since the gencon stuff isn't the mess they're showing on the teasers
Not sure why they're showing the roughs though since the clearly have better available now

As a native of planet Glomp, Red is tall, hardy, strong, and needs a LOT of moisturizer. Glompans, as a whole, invigorated the moisturizer industry, as everywhere in the galaxy is just too darn dry to keep their claylike skin from flaking and cracking. It’s not painful, but it sure does leave a mess, and Red hates messes, though she certainly does make plenty in battle. Given her size and strength, any enemy that gets in her way is sure to be reduced to an unsightly smear.

As Peeks age, they get bigger, stronger and… well, a little bit crazier. They tend to revert back to their Weeble state, both in mentality and hunger. Naturally, this all fits in perfectly with Supreme Commander Thorne’s designs. The Peek-a-Round, as they’re called, are given powered armor, all the guns they can carry, and orders to ‘go have fun’. If the giggling and maniacal laughter are any indication, the Peek-a-Round are having way too much fun indeed. It might seem counterintuitive to introduce such chaotic creatures to a battlefield under Thorne’s command, but trust us: it’s all according to plan.

Bahbaka comes from snowy, chilly Baccahlanche, a founding world of the Starcadian Alliance. He was afflicted with wanderlust at an early age, joined the Starcadian Marines, and traveled the galaxy, sweating every minute of it. He doesn’t understand how the other galactic species can take such constant, withering heat! Anything above freezing is just too hot! Plus, your pocket ice cream always melts! It’s almost barbaric. Despite enduring desert-like conditions for most of his career, Bahbaka has risen to be one of the Alliance’s greatest tactical minds and leaders.

As Octopians increase in strength, they also increase in size. Rumor has it that there’s no upward limit on how large Octopians can get, and their deepest canyons are home to city-sized Octopians of immense strength and intelligence. Fortunately those can’t fit on spaceships, and the Octocruels are about the biggest Thorne has to throw at the Alliance. Still, they’re plenty deadly and plenty scary, having given up on their signature knives and now relying on their own claws and many, many arms to grab heroes into a crushing embrace.

I wish they'd quit using these awful prorotype scupts for these promotional images when they've got far better done already

For a Melodramian like Nixie, life is an endless series of glorious battles, usually starting around breakfast. In fact, she’s usually going to war WITH her breakfast, something her fellow crewmates have to get used to. For all her volatility and CONSTANT USE OF CAPSLOCK, Nixie is incredibly valuable to the team. Her species’ warlike ways make her perfect for taking on threats to galactic peace, even if sometimes she’s the biggest threat. Nixie doesn’t intend any harm to her allies, but the big babies could learn to dodge a little better, RIGHT??

One couldn’t ask for a more dangerous enemy than Supreme Commander Thorne. He’s brilliant, ruthless, and infallible. In fact, when there’s any fallibility to be found, it’s in his subordinates. While the Commander’s plans are perfect and flawless, timed to the very moment every trooper fires their rifle (or even reloads), sometimes random chance interferes. It’s infuriating! All disorder and chaos must be driven from the galaxy! Only the Starcadian Alliance stands in his way, but not for long! Muaha hahaah HAHAAHAAHAHHAHAHAAAAA!!!

I haven't played AQ because my go to Chibi game was SDE. Now that SDE seems to be dead in water, I guess it might be a time to jump ship. The SciFi element is cool and different enough for me to try SQ out at least. There propably won't be a SciFi SDE coming any time soon (if ever), so there is room in my self for this.
I seem to be buying into a lot of SciFi kickstarters lately... Z:Invader, Nemesis, Sine Tempore, Core space (and maybe Heroes of Black Reach can be counted here) and now SQ. It'll be nice to see which one will come on top out of these.
I have the results of the last chamber: You are a horrible person. That's what it says: A horrible person... We weren't even testing for that.

and a new target for everybody, by Grapthar's Hammer! (if you don't get this reference please report to your nearest DVD shop/streaming service immediately)…… actually the bio and image both seem to reference the same thing so I won't be surprised if the IP lawyers get it removed or changed, but we'll have to see

The cowboy-ess Brandy is my favourite figure so far. I guess I have soft spot for space-westerns (*cough*firefly*cough*). I also like the Amaze-on, Yuri, so I think I need to buy both sets.

the comments are really quiet (the new KS format with replies is really messing with people perceptions)
I don't know.
- September campaign, not the ideal time for gathering funds from people (new school year starting and all...).
- Another "flash campaign" from CMON. Most people following them are now used and know how it works - so, no need for them to ask the same questions from before.
- It's really Arcadia Quest in space - basically and mainly a visual and setting change overall. Not much to comment, TBH.
- Not sure if CMON's kickstarter strategy will last for long at this state. Retailers rightfully complain about their methods.
It's not just KS's new commentary section, IMHO.

I think the plastic dashboard is a good thing to have. It keeps the equipment tokens shifting around too much.
So I'm good with the 500K SG.
I have been happy with the Zombicide: BP and Massive darkness plastic tokens, so if the SQ plastic tokens are made same way I will be happy with them too.
Spock is nice.
The PvP add on is something I could take or leave (as I don't own any previous AQ games), but having the Feyd-Rautha fig propably weights the scale in favor of getting this. I still can play the PvP with just SQ figures (and might even rep the fantasy stuff with my SDE collection).

Looks great to me, the robots will be small/pet sized from the look of it (and add a bunch of complexity which some may not like if they want real fast play)
next up in the main box
and an expansion expansion (pretty sure you'll need the Bot expansion to actually play these)
main game, his coat it is brown
for bot expansion buyers only

I don't see how the Bot expansion would add too much complexity to the game. It's just a third character for the crew (i.e. 1 Bot per player). AQ games already had 3 characters/player, I think. SQ reduced thit to 2 characters/player. Now the Bots, if you use them, restore this to 3 characters/player.
Anyway, I got the full Serenity Crew I was hoping for (Mal & Zoe), so I'm happy. If more will show up, all the better, but at least now I can field a Serenity Crew.
Now, if I can build a passable Claptrap out of the Bot options, it'll be perfect! There looks to be a wheeled bottom (picture has mono-wheel, but the model has 2 wheels?). I think they said in the comments that that fig was a resin prototype and the finished version will be mono-wheel. I hope so. Can't have a Bot expac with out a chance to build Claptrap!
EDIT: Actually, Donald is a SG for the Pirate expansion, not for the main game. So both of the Firefly characters are in the pirate expansion. Not a problem for me as I was getting it already. I like space pirates. With a Firefly crew included it just became a no-brainer for me.

I agree with you that the bots aren't going to be adding any significant amount of complexity, it's just what a fair few in the comments are worrying about so I thought I'd better report it
Myself I think they're great and will get the add on and the extra bot pack too

Wow, interesting to see how much less this one is making compared to most CMON campaigns. I admit, I've pledged to the last 3 arcadia quests, but this one was a pass for me. I like the sculpts, but admittedly, would have just preferred more Fantasy Arcadia Quest expansions (like the mount one we got earlier this year).

but never felt drawn to get the other two (the change in sculpt style didn't work for me), but I'm all over this one
I ok, but not excellent performance is in part down to this being SF (seems to do worse than fantasy for this sort of game), CMON running too many KS in a year (even their fans have budgets), and probably a bit of franchise fatigue
