As per lore, power fists are of higher technology which disintegrates whatever it touches - it's not supposed to be a "crushing" weapon as some of us here posted.
Lightning claw on the other hand, is a simple piercing/slashing weapon without the built in "disintegrator."
A Power Fist (also known as a Power Glove) is essentially an over-sized, armoured gauntlet that generates an energy field around it, one that is capable of violently disrupting any solid matter it touches.
A Lightning Claw is a specialised type of Power Weapon... It consists of a powered gauntlet fitted with three or four razor-sharp Adamantium blades, each a miniature power weapon sheathed in a matter disrupting power field, enabling them to carve through armour and flesh with ease.

I think marines would fight more like martial artists, they are so much faster than humans and have faster reactions, I think boxing etc would be too slow. I see them jumping around like neo from the matrix.
I've never really understood this weird idea that somehow boxing is "too slow". Lest we all forget that Bruce Lee himself predicted that he would not be able to match Muhammad Ali. Like it or not, Boxing is a brutal and efficient martial art, and there is a reason that most of the top mixed martial art fighters combine boxing in some degree. Are we going to go around and start calling people like Mayweather slow...
Marines aren't going to use a fancy martial art, cartwheeling around. They are a military force. They will use something brutal and efficient, and they will cut you with combat blades and chain swords.

Yeah because martial artists love prancing around in combat.
Majority of military hand-to-hand combat training regimens are derived from other martial arts. What you refer to as "brutal and efficient" is actually more martial arts than what you seem to be claiming as being "militaristic".
In fact, USMC hand-to-hand combat draws disciplines from schools of martial arts such as bjj, savate, jujutsu, sambo, krav maga, karate, aikido, eskrima, muay thai, TKD, etc.
In short, military H2H combat IS martial arts.

right, i think we are on the same page here. In a sense Boxing itself is a martial art. What I take issue with is when people say "martial arts" they mean something like a Jackie Chan movie, not something like USMC combat training or Sambo which was the former USSR military training. Krav Maga- Israel... etc. I'm not saying that any of those things (or boxing) aren't martial arts. Its more a point to what people like @Formosa mean when they use that term. hence his citation to Neo.

when people say martial arts they're useally thinking "movie martial arts" which is purposefully designed to look flashy but isn't very pratical. I took Karate as a kid and our sensai would occasionally talk to us about the differances between "real karate" and "movie karate" he made the point best the day he held a punching bag and had us line up and take turns jump kicking it. Many a sore rear ends later from falling too the ground upon contact the point was clear "jump kicks don't work"

The Primaris Aggressors have it very awkwardly designed too, since the barrels of the gun cover most of the fist. Punching something with a promethium flame thrower doesent sound like a good idea to me. Good thing Salamanders are master Artisans, after every battle they gotta straighten out the barrels.
And I had always disliked the design of the DW Terminator Melta Fist... but just now imagining one frying something down into melted marshmallow slag, then punching it suddenly seems awesome!
