Snrub - First, spelling is really hard. I am not sure if it is the thread name or mine own that is in error, both seems likely. But hey its not like I am getting paid for my speeling…

How many of them would you actually be using in a game?

Difficult question to answer mate, the points scaling is pretty odd compared to a lot of games. All of my 5 fleets are the same size (10pts at Battle level) and a game of that size would take about 3hrs - 5hs or so to play. Typical tournament games were 5pts at Raid level and that could be 2 ships or it could be 30. On top of that many ships carry fighters that they get for free.

That looks great. Is the blue the contrast paint? How did it work with all the little details and recesses?

I'm impressed by the clean edges of all the gold spots.

Thanks Bob, yeah the blue hull is the contrast paint (the blue that's called a green and begins with an A). I didn't apply it in the GW approved manner so it worked out a little differently than is to be expected. It is actually three coats of contrast laid on thin, highlights with Enchanted Blue and the panels around the gold work done with a very dark GW blue whose name escapes me.

Been over a year since this thread was started and I have finished my first Misc. thing. A little baby knight.


Now its back to painting spaceships...

How big is he? The blue looks really smooth and contrasts well with his glaring eyes. How many knights do you plan to build?

Its about 5 inches I think Bob, standard GW 40k Knight Armiger Warglaive thingy. That is my one and only Knight, I didn't really plan on building that one but was getting jealous of everyone else having stompy robots and thought I should join in the party (actually got a cheap split on... Forgebane?). I did have a grown up knight second hand a couple of years back that ended up spread over State highway 2 after a car crash so this is his replacement. Got a bunch of Skitarii that I plan on doing in the same colours but have 70+ B5 ships to do first.

After a long hiatus I have actually managed to get something done! A commission for a friend, a repaint of an X-Wing Delta 7B in my take of Mace Windu's colours;

Nice! I've always liked the arrowhead shaped jedi fighters. Even better that it belongs to Mace.

Arise from the dead oh thread of hobby procrastination! Been working on stuff for Star Wars Legion and got my first 2 units finished, both of Droideka and in my normal terrible pic quality.

They look pretty cool. Maybe too cool. At first glance I thought they were supposed to be some HK centurions from one of the Terminator movies.

Loving all the B5 ships. Blast from the sweet sweet past. What a show. Looking forward to seeing those starfuries. The first one man space fighter design that made sense in a zero G combat environment.

Afraid you will have a long wait before Starfuries appear, tried painting them a few times and just didn't get on with them. Only have 27 to do though...

More stuff got finished for my CIS army, a couple of B1 squads with special weapons from the expansion box.

Some really nice work ingtaer, and I like your use of proxies too. I was blessed by the Emperor and watched as a kiddie
winkle, loved that show.

Do you have a preference re scale? Always fancied picking up some earth force. The Narn escorts look like they could be proxied as larger scale fighters too actually!

Ragsta - Thanks! No real preference for the scale, the larger stuff I find works better for most stuff but I really like the Fleet Action scale for the Hyach and Cascor (the later not painted yet...) The game works the same as for BFG so it is just the flight stand that is important for the rules and the model is just a pretty token so it is irrelevant what models are used, though having said that I do really dislike the tiny fighters so use the full scale ones instead, this is a bit visually jarring but eh, at least I can tell at a glance which type is which as my eyesight is not the best.

Bob - Thank you very much for that mate! It looks ideal, will be breathing new life in to my campaign log when the tournament season ends in a couple of months and it will be needed.

So, in what is for me record timing I have managed to get another couple of B1 sections completed! If I carry on painting at this rate I will get through my pile of shame in about... 9 years?

Got these done a little while ago but forgot to post them, my first B2 squad ready for action. Was really unsure on the unit when they were announced but having used them for a little while now I have become a true convert. Its nice having a unit that can do something other than catch bullets...

Seems like I have not updated this thing in a fair while so may as well now, a load more badly taken photos of my Legion stuff!
