Against the Ogre Horde

£6 each or 4 for £18

Whilst I trust Boris will do a good job on the sculpts that are artwork only at the moment I’ll want to see the actual sculpt before making a decision to purchase them

Premium resin unlocked - adds about 50% to the cost of a mini I think standard will do.

Hero Standard £5 Metal £6 Premium £7.50
Mighty Standard £6 Metal £7 Premium £8
Monstrous Standard £9 Metal £12 Premium £14

Scale picture

Some close some are noticeably bigger - not really a problem if you don't mix them with the originals or in my case I plan to run the old plastic minions with the new heroes, Gargolye and Warlock - bigger heroes and bosses is not an issue for me.

I like the look of the other 3 ogres not so much the first one shown (far right) its the head that's not doing it for me but they seem to be inspired by internet troll memes and hopefully the legs aren't quite so long on the sculpts its the reverse of the short leg issue of some other companies. Boris is going for something a little different which is no bad thing.

Does anyone have any experience with Zealot's resin? The only resin I've ever worked with is Scibor's, so I'm debating whether the price jump from standard to premium is worth it. That is, whether the detail lost and the lacking flexibility would make me regret not getting the much more pricey option.

I've seen other manufacturers (mostly of larger scale models) use the term "premium resin", and although I have no idea what it means I have been impressed with the quality of those.

lifted from the Reaper forums this apparently came from the comments in response to what resin had been used in their previous projects

"A bit of a mix really, a lot of the scenery, especially large pieces were "Standard" while fine pieces like the Gibbet or Alchemist's bench was "Premium"

Minos are all "Premium" aside from the herd shrine and the body sections. For this KS we wont run the mould so hard for premium, so will be neater with less flash and smaller mould lines too

I will do some comparisons in an update later for you"

I hadn't noticed when working with them that the minotaurs bodies were made in a different resin mix from the smaller bits, so that that as you may

Update #6

Here is a nice juicy update which you certainly will not want to skip

First, lets talk Ogres! Boris has a WIP head for one of the Ogres, as you can see, he takes the concept art and improves upon it every time But what's this guy's name? Hmm. Well we have the results of "Name that Ogre!". Thanks to everyone who made a suggestion, some amusing and appropriate names! After careful consideration, the winners for a free Ogre added to their pledge are:

Mark Birkett - Hodor
Daniel Georges - Gun-tar
Jake P - Wild Brow "Stumps"
Andreas Wagener - Little Joe

Treat your Ogre as an extra which we will add your your pledge after the pledge manager Thanks fellas!

Do you want to add more guaranteed freebies to your pledge? Well read below

FREE for those who Share Litchmyre Dungeon
What are the most common things in any dungeon? Rats and Skulls, of course! Well, it makes sense that everyone gets a set of these for free, for their help spreading the word

All you have to do is SHARE news of this Kickstarter project in a Blog, Forum, Community or anywhere people may like to know about these awesome sculpts (sorry, not on your own personal facebook page, we have other freebies for that later )

Then simply post a link in the comments below with where you shared it. We will add the set of goodies to your pledge
(Convenient promo link and image at the end of this update )

Why are we doing this? Well, we could just drop a load of cash on advertising with some wargaming websites, maybe buy a banner on a forum or two. BUT this is a community project, so we prefer to keep things in the community and let the community benefit. SO instead of giving that cash to someone else for an advert, we would rather spend it to manufacture you an extra set of minis for your help spreading the word

Boris's New Sculpts
Boris is on a beer-fueled sculpting frenzy at the moment, it's slow work with traditional sculpts, but we do have some green awesomeness for some of the current stretch goals Feast your eyes on Gregor WIP:

Sure is one mean and grumpy looking wizard! "Who stole my false teeth?! They will pay for that!"

And a WIP of the Spirit Warrior too!

I told you that you would not want to skip this update Until next time! Good luck down there, Adventurer!

My female heroes all came in different colours and it felt like different resin, too.
Barbarian was really dark grey, like GW plastic. Very hard, no bendy sword. Hard to get a smooth surface after removing mold lines.
Sorceress was light grey, like Forgeworld. Bendy staff that was no problem to fix in hot water. Soft to work with.
Paladin was nearly white, not as soft as Sorceress.

I wonder if these new models all work out fine in standard resin.

How much does that save instead of adding everything as addons? They said it would be further discounted.

42 minis

9 mighty size £6 each = £54 (but 1 ogre is free so £48)
4 Monstrous £9 each = £36
29 hero size £5 each = £145 (but undead dwarf, Sir Edgar and weapons are free so £130)

Total £214 Edit: 1 ogre is free if you get all 4 and the undead dwarf king is free so saving is £24

Sorry multiple edits as a few of the minis are actually free at other levels

Thanks!
And reduced by a further 8 GBP when adding up from the Collector pledge, right? That's a quite small saving...

I made a spreadsheet comparing the different values of the set with a price per miniature.

Addendum: I'm pretty sure that if you commit to at least a hero pledge (5 GBP, $6.5) now, you get access to the pledge manager with the same prices as are currently in the campaign.

and another (which is almost funded already).

I'm interested in a lot of these but will wait until the PM and the physical sculpts are done - I've not seen how Boris handles fur yet.

Missed Litchmyre Dungeon? Never fear! You can join onto the end as a Late Backer, using the Pledge Manager. Just follow this link.
https://app.crowdox.com/projects/zealotminiatures/twisting-catacombs-litchmyre-dungeon
Wave 1 dispatch is due to be starting in a few weeks

Welcome to Twisting Catacombs Late Backers.

If you missed the Kickstarter and would like to take advantage of joining late backers - you have found the right place! By joining as a late backer you will get all the great minis at the lower KS prices and delivered a little before the general release

Be aware of dispatch times, outlined and predicted here:

Late backers will be dispatched after regular KS backers, in two waves. We are splitting dispatch into Wave 1 and Wave 2.
The Wave 1 dispatch is the 13 Core Models from the KS. The dispatch is ready to start in July as planned. Late backers are estimated to Ship around August/September for Wave 1.

Wave 2 are the Stretch Goal models. We are giving the awesome sculptor, Boris, adequate time to finish these sculpts to his usual great standard. So it is estimated that Wave 2 will start dispatch in October for Regular Backers with Late backers following afterwards.

If you would rather just wait for everything to ship at once during Wave 2, select that option at the end of this Survey.
Please be aware that joining the Late Backers will join you to the Kickstarter, these are not store sales, but it is an ongoing project which will require time to manufacture and dispatch for you.
Alternatively consider, if you do not mind the regular store prices; all products will be later available on the Zealot Store, after the Kickstarter and Late Backers are fulfilled, at the end of this year.

I think yesterday, for the Litchmyre dungeon. You aren't confusing it with the minotaurs one, are you?

In any case, you got time.

I ended up popping for the nice resin, since these really look good. There's a few more finished(ish) sculpts on the sculptor's facebook page also.

Yeah Boris has been working away on them

https://www.facebook.com/boris.woloszyn/

He has a few left to do - The Polar Warbear, Yeti, Dire Wolf, Frost Horror (started), Morlar (started) and 3 of the 4 Mercenaries.

His sculpting is very close to the designs I don't like all of his designs (he has a style of his own) but I can't fault his sculpting.
