There are other guides if you don't use GW paints.

Excellent! I always forget youtube is a great resource for painting.

So, I just got my Minotaurs and really like the models. These are the 3 plastic ones that come in a box with options for Champ, Musician, and Standard, which I assumed I would use all three. They come with a lot of options and I am not sure which way to go with them. They come with great weapons which I think look awesome, but in my case, only the Champion would be armed with a great weapon because the others would be holding a standard and drum. I normally would be happy with 2 weapons each mode, but I already have a planned unit of Gors being armed with two weapons. I do like variety, and I think the great weapons will look dope. The set also comes with shields but I do not have any options to use them in RH.

So that being said, here is my 700 point army list and my 1000 point:

- Chieftain (60) with Black Maul (40) and Armor of Bones (30)
- Shaman (75) with Power Stone (25) and Armor of Bones (30)
- 10 Beastigors (110) with Champion (10), Standard (10), and Musician (10)
- 10 Gors (50) with Extra Hand Weapon (20), Light Armor (10), Champion (10), Standard (10), and Musician (10)
- 10 Gors (50) with Shields (10), Light Armor (10), Champion (10), Standard (10), and Musician (10)
- 10 Ungors (30) with Spears (20), Shields (10), Light Armor (10), Champion (10), Standard (10), and Musician (10)

Thats for 700, and if I want to bump this up to 1000, I am adding:

- 3 Minotaurs (135) with Champion (15), Standard (15), and Musician (15)
- 5 Harpies (110)

If I give the Minotaurs great weapons for 6 points each, then I would change out the magic items for my heros. I hate spending so much on magic items too, but I didn't have much choice at the time.

I really, really like these guys. Evil looking and not cheesy like some of the other evil looking armies.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I really think I should give the Minotaurs great weapons... Maybe I can figure out a way to incorporate the great weapons with the standard bearer and musician in some way.

Your bestigors should come with great weapons, have you pointed that in.

Moomen should have great weapons or exrtra hand weapons. Save the shields they make excellent alt-ironfists to spice up ogres, for when you get to do ogres.

Yeah, Minotaurs are kind of a waste with Great Weapons solely because of how much more the cost to arm them. I tend to run my Minos single weapon to save points. Of course I'm also running 28 of them currently...

Looking for dice from the new AOS boxed set and Dark Imperium on the cheap. Let me know if you can help.

I havent looked at the prices for Ravening horde weapons upgrades.
however I am pretty sure you dont need great weapons for minotaurs, they are strng enough, extra hand weapon could well be worth it on a price point.

Damn, one sec, getting my Ravening Hordes......

........Ok mandatory halberds on bestigors, the plastic models are for later edition. Still there is enough similarity between great axe and halberd.

Minotaurs 45pts S4 I4 +6pts weapon options.

Definitely go with extra hand weapons. S5 bestigors provide heavy punch. Moomen are not that efficient S4 T4 is not a lot, the faction gets that with infantry. I4 is worth keeping though. 45pts per bull is a lot, overpriced in my opinion, they are triple bestigor pretty much and so are 10pts overpriced. You will need the extra hand weapon to make them more effective on a value/price ratio. I4 is enough to get the chop in first via most opponents.
The armour is not worth the price for a 6+ save.

Overvaluing a 6+ save was a bugbear GW didn't learn to discard until 7th where the first price differential occured at 5+ and whether a unit was 6+ or no save was just a minor fluff distinction not worth charging points for.
