No straw man. Just wanted to see if that’s what he meant.

In which case that obviously wasn't what he meant. It'd be more like "the causal link between this kind of performance and the shooting of police officers is miniscule", not "there's never any causal link, ever!".

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Why not let him say out what he meant?

On moon miranda.

Ultimately, this was in extremely poor taste, and whoever was in charge should be fired for their lack of judgement in doing this as part of a school event at a public game. That said, given the state of modern US policing, the legal realities around citizen interactions with police, and the fact that US police kill people at a rate orders of magnitude higher than that of other developed nations (Kern county alone shoots and kills about as many people a year as the entire nation of Germany does), it's not hard to see where this sort of thing comes from, and the demand for "respect" for law enforcement becomes increasingly harder to swallow.

I'm also amused at the article labelling the faux-guns as "ar15 style" when they appear to be MP5s. What's more, had I brought a fake gun like that on campus during my HS days, at this point now ~15 years ago, i'd have been expelled immediately and probably arrested Even the color-guard rifles were just vaguely gun shaped wood stocks wrapped completely in bright white tape that werent allowed to be carried around campus.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

It would be interesting to know what the process was in getting this skit initiated and approved, such as who came up with the idea and how many of the faculty knew about it.
The school this was held at was plenty pissed about the ambush and is doing all it can to distance itself from the performance.

Brookhaven statement:

https://bhs.brookhavenschools.org/apps/news/article/928404

“BSD RESPONSE TO HALF TIME SHOW ON FRIDAY, OCT 5th

We agree with your concern, the band that performed was the visiting team, Forrest Hill High School in Jackson, MS.

Brookhaven High School has filed a formal complaint with the MS High School Activities Association and they will be taking action from here.

The Brookhaven School District fully supports our law enforcement. The halftime show performed by the visiting band during Friday's game was an unfortunate issue that our district had no prior knowledge of and does not condone. Our main focus remains, as always, on the safety of our students and the student athletes performing on our fields. We appreciate our community's support as we continue working to ensure a positive environment of sportsmanship for our student athletes and those visiting Brookhaven.”

,That's a no, this has already pushed towards discussing whether or not police get away with murder, and had posters starting to snipe at each other. So no. And don't make another political post anytime soon, really put some thought into whether what you post is following the rules of the OT or not

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
