I'm glad someone said it, I was already prepared to be grossly disappointed with EVERYONE if it wasn't already posted

Seriously though, its one of my favorite franchises. The only games I haven't played from it are the PSP games. Kinda miss the Co-Op one where you get to build an Agent, it kinda lost out by being in the earlier days of online console game play.

X-wing Vs Tie Fighter. A much larger campaign with focus on rogue 1, and seamless space/ground flying would be awesome.

Dark Forces 1, A modern version of the dark forces saga would be amazing and could be done like the modern doom.

Saints row 1 and saints row 2.

Star Wars: Republic Commando. The game was brilliant, arguably did Halo better than several Halo titles, and was a much gritter take on Star Wars that's kind of come back into fashion a bit recently. It's technically backwards compatible on the Xbox One but it's aged far worse than the other big SW games of that era, Battlefront and KotOR, so I could very happily go for a redux.

Throw some money, time and effort at a modernised remake of that and you have the single player Star Wars story everyone wanted and didn't really get from the Battlefront revival.

+1

I loved the squad play aspect to the game, simple yet intuitive controls. Also, you didn't need to sit there and go on youtube to build a character you wanted to play..... I want to play the darn game, not get a Ph D just to get started.

I could be wrong on this one, but didn't Master of Orion a remake a few years back?

Yes, 2016. Well, the voice acting and graphics did.
They didn't have much of a budget for game mechanics after hiring most of the Star Trek Next Gen cast to do silly voices.

Not sure how much of that is in there, but there is a fairly recent fan-made WC game built off the Freespace 2 engine:

It's like a really laid back one with a ton of accounting between action.

It's more sim than shooter.

Now I kind of want to make a police sim. Half of the time you'd be forced to sit at the desk doing mindless paperwork, and you can't go out until ALL of the paperwork is done!

Though only if they kept it more grounded in realism than what they did with The Twin Snakes. When I saw Snake doing backflips over Ocelot's shot and twisting kung-fu dodges over debris kicked at him by the ninja ( who kicked it at Snake whilst doing a backflip himself, of course), I decided to just turn it off and play the original where Snake just jumps backwards from the bullet hitting the ground at his feet. I mean, Snake even calls out the sneaking suit as being hard to move in at the beginning of the game, but apparently not enough to impede his above olympic-level gymnastic skills!

I'd like a remastered Lemmings anthology. Getting Lemmings 2 to work on modern PCs can be a real pain (the first game and Oh No More Lemmings! are on the CD for Lemmings Paintball so they can be played pretty easily) and it would be great to have a compilation of the classic three and their expansions (and maybe Paintball, too) in an easily accessible format.

One that comes to mind to me is Total Annihilation. I have the original game on Steam, and it hasn't aged that badly, but I just imagine what a remake, with a modern game engine and graphics and stuff could do with the huge variety of units seen in that game.

There are a couple of official spiritual successors to TA. Supreme Commander, and Planetary Annihilation. Both go off in their own directions, and some people understandably have mixed feelings about them.

There is also a fan remake which has been out for quite a long time. The Spring RTS engine. It has many games running on it now, but was originally designed as a fully 3D total annihilation remake. I think it's still being actively developed.
It's pretty good if you want something that still has recognizable units from the original game.
Here's a trailer someone recorded over 10 years ago, apparently on a potato.

Final fantasy tactics or tactics advance on the phone. would be pretty easily to build as a phone game and could easily incorporate some fun pvp and possibly base building/defending options.

id probably waste all my time on that game (already do with the port)

Behind you

In Chronological (ish) order.

Stonkers. (Spectrum). The first strategy game I ever played (at about age 6). I can remember isolating the enemy units one by one. Get excited about maybe winning and then the game crashing. Found out about 5 yrs ago this happened to everybody.Hearts of Iron is about the closest recent game.

Invasion. (Spectrum). Kind of an early Conmand and Conquer, except you couldn't build new Units. As the 'good guys' you had to park 3 bomb units next to a weather? Scientists mansion and detonate them before the bad guys destroyed them. As the bad guys you had to defend the mansion.

Gunahip (Spectrum) loved flying my Apache to the sounds of 8-bit Ride of the Valkyries. Loved flying my Apache and ordering another 4 helos about in Gunship 2000 on my Amiga. Did not like Gunships! In the late 90s, as even in invulnerable mode and infinite ammo you'd lose a level due to too many friendly casualties.

Beach Head. (Spectrum). I could shoot down their aircraft, sink their battleships and drive my tanks up their beaches. Could I destroy their bunker at the end.... Could I xxxx. Also enjoyed Beach Head 2 playing as the mad dictator shooting paratroopers from my bunker.

Red Storm Rising. (C128). Submarine sim. Trying to remain undetected sending your torpedos in on a dog leg so when they were discovered the enemy would fire on their bearing away from you. Getting nerd rage when your rocket delivered sealance torpedos would be intercepted by an unarmed transport ship en route to giving an enemy submarine 'the good news'.

Project Stealth Fighter (C128). Shafting Ghadaffi 25yrs before he got, well, shafted. Being spotted at 50 miles by everyone because you bank more than 20 degrees. Becoming invisible to the enemy fighter 500 ft behind you as you are flying less than 200ft from the ground. Congressional Medal of Honour? Simply bomb the refinery as planned and then photograph the damage without being asked...

Creatures. (C128) guide a furry creature on a platformer, creature, whilst cute, has fireballs and is actually an evil git, never completed the game.

Bards Tale. (C128). Find healing temple. Find 2 houses opposite each other next door. Press forwards repeatedly throughout the night element of the game to generate random encounters, 5 kobolds, kill, maim, burn. 8 Barbarians. RUN. Rinse, repeat. Level up. Sort out the stone dragon and get shiny stuff and XP in the castle. Finally completed this game about 5 yrs ago using an emulator. Played the PC remake version from about 10 yrs ago, wasn't impressed.

Wings (Amiga). Now remade and available on GOG. Not sure whether to get it as flying in tight circles waiting for your guns to unjam caused much angst in my teenage years. Bomb the Zeppelin factories. Epic.

Birds of Prey. (Amiga). Fly just about any modern aircraft, from X-15 to C-130 to Tu-95 to SU-27. Learn they are all identical to fly and the best ac are the Russian bombers as they have gun turrets for shooting stuff and a large bomb capacity. Realise the only way to destroy a runway is to drop 2 guided bombs on it. Realise the Russian side has no guided bombs in the arsenal. Find that once your strike targets have been destroyed you are sent on a bombing mission 18,000km away, which you can frig the system to reach, but find there is nothing there to bomb as you are far, far, far way from any detailed map...

Cannon Fodder (Amiga) war has never been so much fun.

Worms (PS1 / Amiga). Best remake of a static tank v tank game on the Spectrum that I can't remember the name of. (Tank tracks or similar?). But with sheep and banana bombs.

Falcon 4.0. (PC). I have Falcon 4.0 BMS. It is ace. I would love a F22/F35 sim to this level, with a campaign scenario of the ilk of Project Stealth Fighter.

Campaign.(Amiga / PC) Mix of strategic sim, with playable battles. If someone could mix the strategy of Hearts of Iron with the ability to actually drive a tank/ man a gun emplacement in a battle I'd probably end up divorced.

X2. (PC). Was ace. X3 Reunion, was better. X3TC blew my mind. X Reunion was dog egg rolled in glitter. X4 is out this month. It'll either cause me to disappear from the real world, kept alive only by IV lines or cause me massive nerd rage at the broken heap of turd that could be the epitome of gaming if only Egosoft cared....

Think that's about as snappy as I can keep 35+ years of gaming.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh, forgot. Can someone programme the last 5 games from the Alternate Reality series as I'm bored running around The City and The Dungeon. Thanks

VTMB Bloodlines and Darklands have already been mentioned, so I'm going to go with Daggerfall. Undo all the streamlining that's been done to TES and have a decent sized world map. Just update the ui and graphics, add some variety to the building generator and then open it up to modders.

Daggerfall is worth another mention, it was my first thought on finding this thread and was actually surprised it was mentioned early. As far as I knew it was a largely forgotten game.

Bloodlines doesn't need to risk a remake, the various levels of fan patch are enough.

Daggerfall needs a port into the Skyrim engine.

I would add Gothic to this list, but its mostly only needs a graphics overhaul.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
