It's an excuse to launch another primarch. Chaos? Imperium?

It's going to end in Gulliman and the Primaris(tm) showing up at the last minute to save the day, we can guess that much.

I think you're right, though it's high time we saw a loyalist. Still holding out hope that Russ is possible.

Ultramarines are already there.

I don't know if it's the whole chapter or a company, or how far away Guilliman is. But my money is that it's gonna be a Fulgrim release which will probably drive Guilliman to the brink of insanity then another primarch will show up to save the day.

As much as I love seeing daemon primarchs coming out I'd say only one primarch fighting them off is too unrealistic even for 40k

Orks will take it.

Hand-wavy “impenetrable shields” or not.

Russ appering "out from the warp" seems likely yes.

I hope they don't go over board with the model compared to forgeworld models. Bobby G's 30k model is a little static but I like it more his 40k one cause the 40k one has a bit to much going on and his heads a bit off.

From a loyalist side, either Russ or the Lion has been set up to possibly occur.

Fulgrim is more likely than Angron at this stage IMO, mostly because of the recent Slaneesh leaks

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

Everybody agrees that the Ork way is the best way. Instead of fighting in conventional war, every race creates their own team of hyper-fast terrestrial racers and compete in one, never-ending cycle of death races. All rules disputes are handled in the gladiatorial thunder dome. It turns out a grot oiler runs bartertown atop a "looted" ogryn. Mel Gibson shows up and goes on a rant about freedom, leading a band of bellicose humans to form the first digganob clan. They are promply krumped and put in their place as the uppity grots they are. The Tau show up and quickly realize the fight for Vigilius literally makes no sense for such a fledgling galactic empire, so they do the only reasonable thing and leave, although a single Kroot and Vespid auxiliary remain. They form an unlikely buddy cop duo, who learn about the power of friendship. The Necrons arrive and set up a monolith at either end of the death races, choosing to teleport their vehicles for instant victories. Everyone promptly boos them, ignores them, and the Necrons decide to spite everyone by using some silly necro-bot doomsday device, only to have the Kroot and Vespid buddy-cops discover and disarm the device just as its detonation timer counts down to 1. The Space Wolves run out of Fenris ale and begin drinking squig beer, which naturally turns them into squig-wolfen. Orks accept them as their own. The Dark Eldar appear and try to go all emo torture on everyone, but the Orks are having too much fun, so they starve their souls failing utterly to worsen the joyous mood. A whole in reality is formed as Slaanesh breaks through to consume the souls of the weakened, dying Dark Eldar, but he/she is challenged to a headbutting contest by the Snakebite's warboss. Rumors say that the warboss directly channeled the might of Gork or possibly Mork that day and he headbutts Slaanesh so hard that he/she is ejected back into the warp.

Active armies, still collecting and painting First and greatest love - Orks, Orks, and more Orks largest pile of shame, so many tanks unassembled most complete and painted beautiful models, couldn't resist the swarm will consume all
Armies in disrepair: nothing new since 5th edition oh how I want to revive, but mostly old fantasy demons and some glorious Soul Grinders in need of love

He's also made a few "appearances" in Regimental Standard over the last few months so it does feel like they are slowly building towards a dramatic reveal.. maybe.
