Looking forward to the launch. One quick question, will you be doing dedicated gaming nights? One problem I've had with a couple of shops including DS is the lack of dedicated 40k nights. DS in particular seems to dedicate a lot of time/space to MTG, a set rota of dedicated nights would be great.

Absolutely! To clarify a bit further, our 15 6x4 tables are going to be exclusively used for tabletop miniature games. We will have dedicated Warhammer 40k/ AoS nights, league nights, regular tournaments, and other social events.
We have some very exciting announcements over the next several weeks, specifically related to your question - stay tuned!

I really wish there were such a place in Denver. I'd love to open one but I'm not sure it would survive. Good luck!

Will certainly make the effort for the opening weekend ... Plus "buy 1x get 1x free" drinks is pretty sweet the deeper into London you get ...

Hi guys,
I had the privelege of being invited to a sneak peak at the badmoon cafe last night as a buddy of mine works at the store(thanks for the invite Paul).
This place is just pure quality. If you're alondoner or you're visiting then this is a must visit place for 40k/Aos and even board game afficionados. They have loads of tables with pre-made terrain and gaming mats in loads of different themes. I'm someone who always has a negative view on 40k terrain but the terrain these guys have made is functionally perfect for 40k with the right amount of LoS blocking and the sweet kicker is its all painted beautifully.
The actual table design is simple but perfect for 40k with space on each side for books dice ets and a dedicated dice rolling tray with neopren mat. Load of space undrneath for storage and the best bit is they haven't crammed the tables together so no more bumping uglies with players behind you.
Its clear that a lot of thought has gone into this place making it a really great space for casual and competitive gaming. Kudos to you guys for stepping up and making this happen. I'm looking forward to being a regular here.
If anyone wants to meetup for a game here send me a PM on Dakka.

£12 a table is pretty steep, especially when you add on top the London beer costs.
I also find it hard to see how you will compete with the product lines for GW when the cost is more than DS and most online retailers.
I go to a club in west London, granted it doesn't look as nice/new but the beer is £3.00 a pop for members. Membership is £20 for the whole year. You should consider some sort of membership for cheaper tables/beer.

Yeah £12 is far too much in my opinion. I don't mind paying for a table, but in all the places I've come across, I've never paid more than £5, and that was in Central London as well.
I think the booking slot system is a bit weird too. Most people working a non-shift in London finish around 6, so for example, despite only being in Euston I'd probably get to the store around 7, but have to book a slot from 5 onwards. This means I'm taking 2 hours of gaming away from someone else.

I've played both 40k and D&D at Bad Moon several times now, and I love it. Great environment, friendly staff, and an overall thoroughly enjoyable experience. Has definitely stolen me away from Dark Sphere as a regular gaming spot.
However, the table pricing hurts. It being as nice as it is, I honestly wouldn't mind paying the £12 for the table (£6 each split with your opponent), but seeing as I've been playing there once or even twice a week it racks up fast.
I'll manage the smaller discount on retail products, and even the pricey food and drink - the environment is that much nicer than Dark Sphere - but the expensive tables is certainly a limiting factor. A membership scheme or some form of discount for frequent players would be excellent, as it'd make the repeat cost of attending regularly sting a lot less.
