I think I'll give it a try tonight, but I think it'd be an amusing concept to imagine the monsters as some sort of extra-dimensional beings trying to make first contact, but being depressingly stonewalled by everyone they reach out to going crazy.

Kind of like my joke with friends about the aliens from Signs only being on a planet so toxic to them because an incorrect button got pushed on their teleporter.

*Edit:. Just saw it. I dunno, it was firmly "okay", in the same vein as a lot of zombie movies. I personally liked that the entities were never shown, myself. Although a lot of things went really, REALLY well for Mallory for having to be blindfolded when outside for 5 years of food and necessity scrounging, as well as travelling a river and untracked wilderness.
