I'm not saying hes a racist but he sure as heck made a racist statement.

Do you understand what context is?

Ok so I want to put my two cents in.
What Peele is doing is essentially using his clout to give actors a chance to do good work they wouldn't be able to because of the lack of people of color in leading roles.
If you have a problem with that, than I have some news.

Nvm, not worth it. Sad that some people don’t understand racism and think this action is racist. Educate yourself.

What was the campus a collage of? He probably would have been better off speaking at a college, as maybe then his words wouldn't have been misinterpreted.
Maybe it'll be good. As I refuse to endorse the channel, I will not be watching.
Just apply the simple test. If you invert the races or genders in question, would it get you unpersoned, internet dogpiled and/or literally attacked in the street by the SJW outrage mob? If yes, then it's still racist/sexist.

Imagine if he had said
“I don’t see myself casting a black chick as the lead in my movie. Not that I don’t like black chicks,” he said, nodding over to Roberts. “But I’ve seen that movie.”
there would be international outrage.

My comment was a joke to point out the poster's inability to spell the word college right.

There is wisdom here.
Now can we reserve the thread to talk about the actual show?

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Watched the first episode. Good premise, started out good, and then just kind of kept going and going and how long is this? It could easily have had a third, if not half of its run time cut to get to the obvious ending quicker. Still want to watch the second episode to see what their take on the class Terror at X0,000 Feet is.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Why not go with MLK's novel approach of judging people by merit and character? Stating you don't want a white dude is just the shoe on the other foot. No amount of context or history really changes that. I really believe there should be minority representation in films, and the parts should go to the best actors. Starting out a project with the premise that you won't hire a certain race for lead roles feels like a step back though. I like Morgan Freeman's ideas on the subject "I'll just stop referring to you as a white man and you stop referring to me as a black man".

The show looks ok I guess. There's not much to take from random ominous dialog and suspenseful music but, I guess it's a teaser. Might watch on Utube.

-Removed because it upset some people-

I will not watch this show because I dislike the company and individuals involved in its creation, regardless of the quality of the product.

Again, can we move this off politics and onto the topic itself, before it gets closed?

Why is BCB continuing to spout his personal political hot takes without censure? Can we get a mod up in here please and get back on topic?

I think the really issue with the show has nothing to do with the creator. It should be the Paywall and the cabalization of streaming services to be nothing more than just another subscribed channel like HBO or Cinemax. I thought the Internet was suppose to be some novel new way to do things? Looks like it lasted about a generation before the system figured out how to "monetize" it, just like the printing press and radio befor eit.

Still in my queue. Right now I'm actually on a hot run with painting minis, and man I need to ride that pony for as long as I can with how easily distracted I am. I plan to catch these this weekend at the latest.

I loved Us and Get Out, really liking what he has done so far. Do not care if he never casts a white lead so long as he keeps casting good leads.

Haven't had a chance to watch, but it looks to be a hit. Popular enough to get a second season greenlit:

We’re five episodes into the first season of CBS All Access’ “The Twilight Zone,” executive produced and hosted by Jordan Peele, and we’ve learned today that more is on the way!

CBS All Access has just renewed the reboot series for a second season.

“Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg’s reimagining of ‘The Twilight Zone’ is off to an amazing start on CBS All Access, driving the most viewers on its premiere day for an original series to date,” Julie McNamara, executive vice president of original content at CBS All Access, said. “Jordan, Simon, the creative team and cast have done a phenomenal job translating the series’ legacy of socially conscious storytelling for modern-day audiences. They are master storytellers, and we look forward to bringing fans further into ‘The Twilight Zone’ with a second season.”

New episodes of “The Twilight Zone” premiere every Thursday through CBS All Access.

The new series is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films. Peele, Kinberg and Ramirez executive produce for the series. Win Rosenfeld and Audrey Chon also serve as executive producers.

“The Twilight Zone,” created and hosted by Rod Serling, originally ran as a series on CBS from 1959 to 1964. The show melded fantasy, science-fiction, and horror elements with Serling serving as the exec producer and writing or co-writing 92 of the show’s 156 episodes along with delivering monologues at the beginning and end of each episode.

Still haven’t made time to watch episode three yet. I found the first two fairly mediocre. Not like Bad, just kind of boring. Don’t want to completely give up on it yet though.
