Wiped a squad of 30 ork boyz down to the nob with one wound remaining. Cue his turn where he spends 3CP and redeploys the whole squad beside his weirdboy so he can Da Jump them straight into my face for a second time in the game.

Game of Sharp Practice last Saturday afternoon, first run for American Civil War, me playing Confederates, facing Union.

the game uses a token activation system, it is, as my general discovered, possible to activate and move into position to get the jump on the enemy, its also possible to then fluff the dice and for not a lot to come of it.

the gods of dice are cruel, before he activated again the target activated three times. The target shuffled forwards to be in close range and fired - no fancy controlled fire, just a lot of musket balls flying quickly.

Before my General activated again the two groups he was attached to were essentially broken, chased from the board, taking a unit of skirmishers with them...

the remains of my army tried to put up a brave fight but the dice didn't like the idea.

Hilarious game of "if it can go wrong it will", officers being pushed over by their own men, "rapid" advances that were more slow shuffles, and all the time the lead was flying.

Actually enjoyed it immensely, takes a good set of rules for that kind of defeat to still be a fun game

Managed to get a turn 1 assault off with 10 Howling Banshees against Tau and negated their whole overwatch shenanigans with their masks.

The Tau player proceeded to disengage and shoot my Banshees off the board because I couldn't wrap a unit.

It was a double great moment actually.

I was on the way to table my Catachan opponent with some insane Deathskull luck when he charged an Infantry squad and his commander into what was left of a boy mob. After his attacks, only the big choppa nob survived, who proceeded to strike down his commander before happily running away.

The turn right after, the same infantry squad sergeant, standing alone in the middle of his fallen brothers, last AM model standing, decided to charge my warboss, standing on top of a big altar. It was so cool I refused to use my overwatch and I almost wished the brave Catachan sergeant would kill my boss. The sarge fig was running and screaming when the boss stood in all his brutal might waiting for him. It was like a scene from a movie, what I love in 40k and hadn't seen in too long.

Of course the boss just cut down the sarge in half...

Surfing the Tervigon Wave...on a baby.

From the last game I played?

Two things stick out. Kharn cleaving his way through a full unit of Howling Banshees and then a full unit of Shining Spears in the same turn...

Or probably a better one - a WE Chaos Lord coming through the wall to where Yvraine was hiding and murdering her in one turn. At that point the Ynnari player pretty much consigned himself to being doomed.

Now only a CSM player.

Fortress world of Ostrakan

Yesterday I had a 4 player FFA kill team match. I had my AdMech against GSC, Eldar, and IG.

I faced mostly the Guardsmen, but I had really unlucky rolls, as in the 5th turn, I was wiped out and only 5 out of 17 guardsmen were dead. However, 9 of them had at least one flesh-wound as whenever I rolled for the injury dice, it was always a flesh-wound in all but 2 cases. The other 2 guardsmen were killed by the Eldar and one had a plasma gun malfunction.

Did a GK vs GSC game last month with a buddy, was a real slugfest. The last bit of combat was the Abominant vs a GMNDK - the little guy survived smites and a round of shooting just before. The GMNDK charges, wiffs on all but 1 attack, knocks Abomie down to 1 wound who then promptly strikes back, hits with every attack and smashes the GMDNK flat.

My friend and I laughed for probably a good ten minutes.

I played a AoS Skirmish game of mixed Chaos vs Stormcast. I charged a Liberator Prime wielding a Grandblade with 3 Chaos warriors hoping to cut him down and quickly rush my opponents objective in his zone as the backfield would have been clear.

Instead the Prime tanked my Chaos Warriors for 3 turns, cut them all down, and then rushed the objective in MY territory winning the game for my opponent.

In a totally friendly game (all-infantry Primaris versus my all-monster Tyranids), 3 units of Primaris deep-striked behind my shooty Carnifex (unit of 10, unit of 5, and a Lieutenant/character of some sort, sorry still not up to snuff with Primaris names).

All units failed to charge, with the added bonus that one of my Carnifex managed to one-shot the character from overwatch! Not something I expect to see again anytime soon!

The game was very one-sided in my favor but was still a very funny moment for us!

Fantasy armies - Retired (Tomb Kings, Vampires, Empire, Chaos Warriors/Daemons, Dark Elves)

Tyranids army - Ever evolving, but about 10k pts
Custodes - 3,500pts (Fully painted yay!)
Thousand Sons - 4,000 pts
Eldar - 3,000pts

In our last dungeon crawl test (with three of four players being brand new), the hero party ran into a Vampire in the very first room. They proceeded to fail around 25-30 straight attack rolls...(each roll having approximately a 30% chance of success).

I was fully prepared to re-start the game, but it was just mind-boggling watching them fail...and fail...and fail...and fail...and fail...

Funny bit of Batman.

Batwoman and Clayface were teamed up against Ivy, who mind controlled Clayface. Batwoman beat down Ivy and then Clayface knocked her out. Batwoman recovered, Ivy didn't, so she slapped the cuffs on her and Clayface spent the rest of the game bodyguarding her to keep her standing.

Committed Chaos Cult Marine

Spoiler:

The lost patrol scouts of the Blood Angels chapter has just managed to find their way out of the death forest filled with horrors that would drive lesser men insane...if those men could survive long enough for the madness to take hold. Weary, the scouts trudged out of the death world forest where even the plants could kill in an instant. The ruins of long destroyed Imperial city offered little respite, but that little would be all the space marines would need. Perhaps the ruins would offer a structure tall enough for the marines to send a signal that would reach beyond the irradiated rain clouds that currently masked the fact they still yet lived from their battle brothers. The scouts made a brief camp to gain some relief and gather a bit of strength before moving on.

Unfortunately, the scouts saw little rest. Heard deep within the irradiated rain forest, the guttural yells of "WAAAGH!" were heard over the pitter-patter of the stinging rain. Orks. The scouts had been sloppy from fatigue and mild rad poisoning. The Greenskins had manged to track them, something that would be impossible under normal conditions. It wasn't long before the Orks could be seen charging out of the thick jungle foliage. Bad Moons. Mostly Shootas and Lootas with a handful of gretchin. Strike that, a couple of gretchin as one of the grots ran a little too close to some shadwrack spines which moved with lighting speed impaling the diminutive orkoid.

The orks attacking in waves firing wildly filling the air with lead, though; none could find their targets hidden amounst the gothic ruins of steel and stone. The scouts sniper rifles also had difficultly puting down the greenskin attackers. Maybe it was the days of no food or sleep all the while slowing being poisoned or maybe the constant sheets of water falling from an uncaring dark gray sky made drawing a bead on the orks impossible for all save Emperor. Either way, the orks would be upon the scouts soon.

One such ork who had skin the color of dark mint had struggled to keep pace with the rest of the hoard falling so far behind as to become a part of the orks second wave. One cleared of the forest, Minty the Ork surged forward directly into the heart of the scout's defense line. It was only but for the preternatural speed of team's demolitions specialist that the brute didn't cut him down in an instant. He fell back to allow his brothers one final volley before they too would be caught in close quarters fighting. The scouts managed to hit their target at point blank range removing large chunks of the creature's flesh. But the thing was possessed with the spirit of Gork (or was it Mork) himself. The ork boy once again charged into the fray of scouts, his choppa swung savagely in wide circles over his head. This time the scouts could not fall back. This time the demo expert was not fast enough. Minty the Ork flayed open the Blood Angel scout in a shower of viscera.

The surviving Blood Angels caught in the melee howled. This would be the first time for many of them to truly feel the Black Rage curse. Possessed with this overwhelming rage and hate they dispatched the greenskin with such brutality that even the remaining orks took pause. This was the moment the tide had turned in the favor of the scouts...

Dramatization of a recent Kill Team game I had where I was playing the orks. I have a Ork Boy that I painted in German Uniform that I call Minty the Ork (below spoiler is a photo of him). He is just a regular easy-to-build slugga boy that more often than not finds himself doing pretty well.

Playing AOS. First time playing, my buddy thought he had me in a kill box.

Revealed that my squig riders have the fly keyword. Walked over his models and dealt mortal wounds, charged over his backline models and directly into his heros/casters.

Proceeded to play the fight phase incorrectly, and didn't split my targets the way I should (thought I couldn't). Lost the game as a result.

The Game: Mordheim

Skaven Vs. Bretonnian Chapel Guard

Both Black Skaven (I6) had maneuvered themselves into great charge positions above their targets in a desired attempt for a diving charge.

Both of them rolled 6's on their I tests and fell to the ground in front of their targets, helpless.

Both survived, but it was a close thing
