Totally - I'm a bit of a completionist and toy collector myself, so I wouldn't want the rings to be random if they had some sway in the gameplay. Since they're cosmetic, they make for a fun surprise in each monster pack.

In the lore of the world, the caster ring is very important! I'll be expanding upon the lore page of the website once I have all the KS pre-production locked in.

This looks great. Love the early 2000s vibe of the commercial.

Thanks Gallahad!

Playtesting went well! The basic game rules worked really well for our 10 and 12-year-old playtesters. After a game, both were ready to begin adding some of the advanced rules that add additional strategy and decision making to the gameplay. They wanted to play a second game right after the first and try new monster teams, so we did!

The 8 year old really enjoyed Necromolds as toys, and her + dad began to play a game together. With her dad's help, she seemed to be following the rules. She was using the distance tool to move her characters and was rolling her dice during combat - However, the game ended a little short because she didn't like it when her dad got to smash her characters hahaha. Overall I'll probably keep the age on the game box 10+, but I think young kids who are already learning chess and other abstract games can probably handle the rules!

This idea is pure genius. Really looking forward to seeing more about it.

This is absolutely silly and something I would have begged my parents for back when I was in elementary school.

Which means I'll at least get the battle box with the kickstarter.

Undead Dinosaurs! future expansion??? Honesty this is a awesome idea combining my love of the creepy crawlies toys and table top gaming. I'm going whole hog and getting the "I want it all" tier!

Oh man, creepy crawlies were aaaaaaamazing for us as kids . I didn't even think of that until now, great comparison!

Also the campaign already is almost $10k over it's $50k funding goal after just a day, so critical mass already achieved

I'm trying to cut back on Kickstarter (only backing creators that have had previous successes) but this looked too fun to pass up. I think my kids will dig it.

Wow - Thanks you all! It's been kind of a crazy 48 hours and its still a little hard to believe that Necromolds are going to be real - and made by an awesome manufacturer no less!

Future dino expansion would be awesome! I'm really hoping to expand into different themes in the future as well as build up our own unique army of golems.

Now we're just trying to bust through stretch goals. If we can actually manage to unlock them all, I have a few final ones in-store that I think everyone's going to love. One is a print-and-play expansion that I'm excited to start testing that adds one of my favorite elements of wargaming to Necromolds... the surprise flank!

I second a dino expansion. You can't have a game involving monsters both big and small without a Godzilla knock off tribute...

As I think about it - there's no reason the dino bones in the earth couldn't be brought to life as terrifying dino-golems!

While I 100% support the idea of undead dinosaurs, you need to focus on the project as-is and avoid feature creap until AFTER people have Necromolds in their hands!

Yeah definitely . He posted above that that's all just ideas for the future anyway (stretch goals are already set for this campaign). Even as the person who suggested dinos, I toooootally agree with that

100% with you! I've seen too many post-Kickstarter failures because of feature creep. I've worked really closely with our manufacturer on the final stretch goal list to make sure every part of production is onboard with no red-flags.

We just added our final goals today, which include the flanking expansion and a Basalt's Fortress, which is a castle mold used to measure out the right volume of clay for battling!

Just learn from the lessons Reaper did with their first project. A freebie/bonus you think you can afford now for 800 backers may not be so affordable if you have 2000+ backers by the end of the project.

I can't say with 100% certainty (I'll ask), but I know that we're manufacturing and having the toys approved by the proper gov agencies.
