Just about anything with Paul Newman or Steve McQueen in it. Let's go with Cool Hand Luke and The Great Escape.
Either of those guys would be the coolest guy in the room, anytime and anywhere. If they were in the same room, space-time would probably collapse into a singularity of infinite coolness. Hollywood doesn't make 'em like that anymore.
For me a good overall representation is seen in Band of Brothers. Not the whole “fight and war” manly stereotypes of soldiers, but the loyalty to and fight for one another. Two scenes stand out for me:

And the realization that these guys were not soldiers defined by war, but men defined by what they made of themselves in spite of the war.
