An apology for this?

And anything else with the herpy derpy "magic ice" stuff.

Hey now. The magic ice stuff is the best thing they released for SW since I started playing them. Which is actually very sad now I type it out.

O i'm a big fan of Wulfen, TWC, and Fenris wolves! I'm making SW horde army using wolves but I have been sanding over a ton of the wulf Icons. If There was a stratagem that made a unit with ice weapons do plus 1 damage then they would be useful.

Primaris Marines always struck me as ultramarines with palette swaps. I hope they focus on our unique units. Another option instead of boosting CC, they can potentially give us stratagems or warlord traits to boost our survivability.

Stratagem to charge from transports would be nice.

Maybe also a stratagem that Infantry casualties aren’t removed until the very end of the turn (1 CP for one squad, 3 CP for two squads?)

It never ends well

Would be the first PA book I buy if they did somethinig like this would be a joyful read.

not gonna happen, truthfully I've long concluded that flanderization is simply the natural process of a long running faction based setting, 40k is hardly alone in horriable flanderization of their factions

I Think it's a natural evolution of works that pass through the hands of multiple authors. Sometimes I wonder if it's almost a form of adaptation distillation, where it's an adaptation to the new author rather than medium.

It's particularly bad when authors were raised on the material and have a different relationship with it than the original author. Their view is from the inside looking out, informed entirely by the works existence. The original author stands outside the work being informed on how and why they created it instead.

In a way you could say that any work produced by subsequent authors not the original ones is a form of fanfiction because of this. Or that it's a difference between invention and iteration.

That doesn't make original authors superior, because they can become fanbois of their own work and their relationship with it fundamentally Changes (CF Goerge Lucas).

But it does seem inevitable and has been happening to 40k for a long time. Perhaps some of the oldest examples of this are how chaos is represented. Khorne originally including martial pride in his domain, not just skulls and blood

Hey, what army do you play? Whatever it is I hope yours gets something that'll ruin it (for you) worse than a shift to legends.

Yes, I too would like SW to be a bit more viking and a bit less Wolfy McWolf. You've made your point, can we now get back on topic please?

Sorry guys but I think space wolves might be taking a back seat on this one. We know it's orks VS space wolves and that a new ghaz model is on the way. So unless they're going hard on this book I can't see 2 whole models coming out

I don't mind not getting a new model, I want that what SW does have is made to work properly.

Templars, Guard, Thousand Sons.
Its not about prospero and I'm generally not a fan of the Primaris- I just feel that in the SW case some paring back to basics would be beneficial to the lore and model line.

Your model is excellent and you should feel great. Reminds me of the BA Exiles hiding their livery in the EoT- looks like a model that's been scavenging and surviving and resisting chaos somehow for 10k years would look.

Nothing wrong with Space-wolf-werewolves that have non standard weapons- just don't call them frost claws and don't pull them out of Grimnar's ass (they've been behind the couch the whole time!)

not in this campaign but i would like to see a return of Russ and other loyal /trater primarchs. But throwing out a surprise loyalist primarch would be pretty seems unlikely. I would like it to be done by some kind of space wolf black library collaboration, introduction of a new space wolf primaris wolf priest who has a vision, then follows that vision into a chaos demons vs. space wolf limited box set leading up to finding Russ.

If we take into account the releases of BA and DA, SW will get the marines strats that are common for BA and DA, about 7 strats specific to them, the generic litanies plus a specific litany
relics, warlord traits, special issue wargear and some updated datasheets like hammers for intercessors.
Their chapter tactic will probably stay the same because it already had 2 parts like the DA while BA only had the +1 to wound before the update. As for doctrines I believe they will get the same treatment and I hope the special ability comes in tactical doctrine providing some mobility

As for strats I would like to see things like 3d6 charge, disembark from transports after they moved, advance and charge, deny enemy fall back, maybe +1 to wound on a unit and no more reroll hits and extra attacks in the fight phase because wolves have a serious problem getting into combat

As for relics a decent relic weapon for a change and a way to refund Command points and deny overwatch

PS :anyone who doesn't like spacewolves model line or lore just don't play that army there people who like the models as others said

So I'm confused by your wish concerning a shift to Legends for my army....
They do that for (old) models they no longer sell. Do you really expect they'd stop selling stuff with new* plastic kits - Logan on his sled, TWC, that stupid looking rectangular flier/transport, ANYTHING Primaris?? No, even the dumbest thing on that list (TWC IMO) is 15+ years out from even being considered. And even then not likely.
So as those things, especially the Primaris, aren't going anywhere, what's to pare back?
Without cutting into those "basics" that you want & my specific collection is comprised of (my SW were built in 2e & aside from a few bitz, bases & packs/shoulder pads & another squad of vintage GH are exactly the same models now as then. My army is 2e vintage & it's staying that way. It doesn't use the modern goofy crap. Not even Wulfin.), you go paring away any "basics" & you wreck my army.

Lore? I don't give a crap about the lore. I really never have (for any of the armies). So they could flush all of it or wright a volume as thick as War & Peace. End of the day all I care about is the models, the models having rules in the current edition, & how to construct a list in the current edition (do I need x % of this/that etc, do I need 1-3 HQ + so many troops etc).
The rules for the models being good is merely a +.

Imagine if our HQ units got the option to take 1 or 2 Fenris wolves with them like Ragnar, to use them to soak extra wounds.

The option to take a wolf priest, rune priest, or non named character on TWC.
