My Blood Angels are the remnants of an expedition who were sent to reinforce a local system when the Devastation of Baal started. An Inquisitor in the area linked up with them but seized control of the Imperial forces when the fleet lost communication with the BA Captain whilst he was on the surface of a planet. The Inquisitor saw the planet was lost, and called for Exterminatus. The BA Captain got word too late to evacuate his men, barely escaping himself, and losing many of his most trusted advisors. Since then Captain De Niro has been ever on the edge of the Black Rage, often becoming enraged in the heat of battle. Some say that this is why he lost contact with the fleet in the first place. Since the loss of so many of his brothers, Commander Dante has resupplied De Niro's forces with new Primaris recruits as well as a handful of Terminators from the 1st Company, but the battle line troops from the army share their master's temperament, and on the eve of battle many join the ranks of the Death Company.

My Aeldari are all based on one maiden world, but come from different sources. The former-Craftworlders found their home under overwhelming attack from the forces of Chaos, and were forced to crash what remained on their new home, finding their Exodite hosts very welcoming, and using their forgotten, advanced wraithbone techniques to repair and modify much of the Asurani technology. The Drukhari escaped a similar catastrophe, and are hiding out. The Harlequins are just there.

I enjoy writing my own lore so much that I made a blog all about it (and modelling)
https://realmofgerezman.blogspot.com/

But in short, my Space Marines, the Angels of Iron are wardens of a series of dread vaults filled with horrible, forbidden things.

My CSM are technically a Word Bearers splinter, but the story a little more complicated than that. A slave on a Word Bearers controlled world lead a revolution and penned a dark tome of Chaos which united a number of disparate warbands together.

And the orks hit things.
