I can tell you that my requests regarding Dark Eldar have certainly been ignored.

We're in the same boat then it seems. It's given me time at least to paint up a new Dark Eldar army now though. I gotta say, the new Incubi are fantastic.

Would be nice to see their roster filled out some.

Not really sure where GW head is at, Eldar and Dark Eldar really need some love. It's only been 2 and a half decades since we got new Aspect Warriors.

Definitely need moar marines though...

yeah, he's saying new aspect warriors haven't come out in 2.5 decades. I'm saying he's wrong.

I'm reasonably certain that the new banshees and incubi are a product of one of the surveys petitioning for new aspect warrior models.

[Also, do banshees not count as aspect warriors, or do you mean to say there were 2.5 decades between the last aspect warrior release and the banshees?]

Future aspect warrior models are probably dependent upon how well the incubi and banshees did.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

I think people are giving the 'survey' WAY too much credit for 'changing' things at GW. The specialist line was likely under planning well before the 2017 survey...Blood Bowl came out in 2016, folks. I get you like to think you had/have an influence, but quite likely, it was minimal at best.

I've always suspected 90% of it was to give them some ammo to use when pressing things they wanna do anyway that there is concern there may not be support for. Sisters is a good example. I suspect the board members where convinced sisters wouldn't sell so they used the survey to say "SEE THEY'LL SELL"

The survey can work in many ways.

For GW it can give an impression of what their market thinks about them not just in relation to products, but as a company in general. Don't forget GW has gone into social media marketing in a HUGE way after basically shunning it for years. They are now doing social media marketing online every day of the year and have clearly put a lot of money and a few staff into a dedicated team and setup.

How we view GW is clearly important to them now more than ever. Survey answers might well help them understand this aspect at the corporate upper level. In addition they can use the survey to get a rough feel on what the market desires. Note that what the market is willing to pay for and what the market desires are not always the same thing.

Eg that plastic thunderhawk likely gets a lot of requests, but it doesn't mean every one of those are from people who could afford it and afford it in such numbers as to make it viable. Heck GW was already taking a risk with Adepticus Titanicus.

So they likely got a feel for how well sisters of battle might be received. The project was likely already launched when the survey went out; but perhaps the answers to it generated more resources to be dedicated to the launch. So perhaps one or two models were fast-tracked earlier into development; or resources were allocated for later expansion in advance of sales data.

Plus it lets GW react and say "You asked for X - here is X!"

Nobody cares, but thanks for jumping down my throat anyway. Very productive.

Yep, Howling Banshees were released after like 25 years. Call me when they update the whole line.

there’s always greenstuff ig

As for chainswords, the BA upgrade sprue comes with a tonne. Also, if you get primaris sword arms + oldmarine chainsword arms and do a hand transplant, that can look quite good.

I've tried my hand at greenstuff before and I am terrible. I can't sculpt anything unfortunately. Maybe I could find a way to glue the plastic BT tabards on to Primaris.

I've debated about adding chainswords from old kits. But I've scratch built armies in the past using a lot of kit bashing and customization only to have them become obsolete.

The way that GW is heading is one of "no model, no rules", I don't feel like wasting a lot of time, effort and money into something that is unofficial. They used to promote kit bashing, but thats a thing of the past.

I'd prefer to wait for GW to make something official, that way I know I won't be throwing my money away for at least 20 years before they release "Neo-Primaris"

I'm already afraid I blew a tonne of money on the new Chaos Marines because they might have Chaos Primaris out soon.

I already got fethed at the beginning of 8th with my Ynnari army. It was built and painted and played a couple games before they decided to completely change the structure of that army.

Then there's Warhammer Fantasy, but I won't get into that.

You can only be bitten so many times, you know?

Might these be worth a look?

See that stuff above? Completely true. All of it, every single word. Stands to reason.
