Agreed with the_scotsman - Arch does not sound like a natural Brit. The sort of sub-culture you're describing may like to think that speaking with an English accent makes them sound smarter, but it often comes off as Hollywood English and lacks authenticity - and of course their main mistake is in thinking there is one English accent when instead there are many. They're all beautiful in their own way, but they don't all scream intelligent and well-educated...

I'm from South-East London, for example. Thankfully, I don't sound like it.

Do you know what your sin is, Malcolm Reynolds?
Ah hell, I'm a fan of all seven.
But right now, I'm gonna have to go with wrath.

No one ever imitates a Brummie accent...

Well Brummie is the obvious exception to all that.

Isn't it because to talk in it, you are required to have a specific type of lung and thorax damage from the air quality?

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

Even Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have regional dialects.

May be going off on a tangent, but the UK has insane levels of dialects. Like you can tell the difference between Sunderland and Newcastle, or Liverpool from Manchester. 30 miles, completely different accent.

This used to be the case, but the popularity of Peaky Blinders has led to all sorts of imitation Brummie accents in my experience.

It's not unique to the UK either, a lot of other countries are the same. Of course a lot are being heavily diluted today. Easy travel and TV are destroying many regional dialects. Go back 100 years and the differences were far more powerful to the point where this scene below is underplaying the need for a translator

Basically any stable nation with a fairly sedentary population will develop regional variation in speech. TV will steadily erode this because TV provides a less diverse influence of language - far more so if they take the old BBC style where only people who spoke a certain way were allowed to work for them (its far more relaxed now - if anything they've more northern accents than ever before

The number of available hits on the website is limited and has sold out even though GW capped the number of visits per person to three. Starting in September, accessing the Warhammer Community page will require a paid subscription due to the high level of super special grimdark content, and comics.

This is only funny because GW would really charge for visiting their site if they could get away with it.

Insane levels of dialects.
Spoiler:

Meanwhile over here literally having to have a translator for siwss german to understand specific medieaval aged but still spoken swiss german to another swiss german, because centralisation IS BAD! And still getting confused as to what the other parties excactly want from you.

God i love dialects.

Even better when the rommands show up and you suddendly hear them speaking pattois then asking something in high german only to be confronted with highgerman that is so full off local swiss german names that they might aswell play lotto to understand

A guy from out town went to prison for throwing a ham sandwitch a mosque. And two guys were beaten to death by locals for just speaking polish and eating in public. Western countries are an insane mix of stuff to me, which I will never understand as every rules is contradictory and people never act or say what they mean.

it's nearly as if "western countries" are well not a singular monolithic structure of culture and values.

As the english goes, I went two school in two different cities, and every teacher or lesson we watched had an accent similar to that this dude has. Although I must say, I watched like 3 min of him talking about D&D stuff, so I am not claiming he ain't going really annoying in his other videos, of which he seems to have a lot.

But to be honest, he is scandinavian maybe they talk british different. We had exchange students and trainers from mongolia once. They understood and read english, no problem. They just talked in a such a way we couldn't understand them . Oddly enough they understood us, but in the end we started just using russian for sake of simplicity.

I still don't get why the dude isn't roting in prison. Starting an attack on a company and forcing it to set up defence measures, would be more then enough here. The state would accuse him of terrorism and, or espionage and demend him to be extradited. Specialy if the company was an important one and had state interests in it.

it's called proportionality principle, Karol, destroying someones livelyhood for what is in essence an minor act of vandalism is out of proportion and challangeable in most cases.

No idea - I didn't get it earlier in the week, and nothing has changed at my end. I wonder if FW restarting pre-orders has changed something on their side?
