I've never been a fan of regular guard, and even when I had Brood Brothers in my GSC I wanted them to be more rabble-rousey like R&H. I really liked their line too, it got offed long before I could even think of buying in though...

I'll send an email in a bit.

This seems ludicrous to me, Chaos is going to be made up almost entirely of cultists and renegades, there's at best 1-2 million CSM in the galaxy, they're going to be thinly spread (hmm... 1 million Space Marines... hmm) R&H DEFINITELY need a Codex, frankly it's ridiculous that they haven't got one

Thanks.

it's a shame really.

I did wonder if GW even thinks of Forge world as a core part of 40k as a game. The way they handle it at times has been so weird.
The only reason i think to drop them now so completly is that they plan at some stage, probably years away to possibly push out as a new line for 40k out of the main design team.

With Elysians they would be little effort to support in the main codex for guard, So i dont know.

I'm personally really sad that the giant spawn and beast got squatted, as their lore and rules both would have made them perfect fits for my possible Resident Evil/Dead Space/Splatterhouse-themed army.

Pale throng?

I guess atleast mutants you could kinda represent via GSC but that is a poor consolation really.

friend of mine actually owns a full elysian buggy army with air support and drop sentinels, the word from GW/FW was that nobody was really buying the infantry just the buggies so they discontinued the line.
Apparently the DKOK has all the attention for alternate 40K guard armies.

considering how the GW rulesteam selfsabotaged the lines during 8th...

And the constant pricehikes especially on elysian infantry it is no wonder neither army really sold.

Will he contact GW?

Well he already has the full army, including the original taro campaign book, he has all he needs to play the army in 5th . So i don't see it being a problem.

Another of our regulars has a DKOK army as well. he hated what happened to them in 8th so he as well is going back and using their original rules for previous editions.

Funny enough a guy that was a regular who moved out of the area several years ago had a brutal corsairs list with hornets and warp hunters. i wonder how he is doing, or if he even plays anymore.

aye, i guess, but we should still remind gw that these armies are out there and actually worth a statement from them.

if i look at my mate that has a corsair army and others lying around, he rarely plays anymore during 8th. He was in general discontent with GW/ FW's approach and when 8th came around he just switched to Bolt action and other games, occaisionally he fields his other armies and whilest fun i feel like it has sapped his enthusiasm imensly,

Renegades and Heretics are probably going to be re-released as a new army. They already have a bunch of models in Blackstone fortress which was very comparable to the silver tower from AOS. All the things from silver tower eventually became full fledged armies in AOS. Id imagine they are doing the same for blackstone fortress.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but there have been explicit changes, and additions, to the IA FAQ for Elysian units. Seems a little odd to me that GW would expend resources to update units they're deleting from existence, but they've done stupider things.

There were two changes, the Snipers ignoring Look out sir and the Buggies losing their Targeting Array, which are blanket updates that require copy paste and no thought put into it.

Perhaps it might be because DKoK are planned to be done in plastic as part of an IG Codex/ Army update while Elysians, R&H and Corsairs will be rereleased through Forgeworld when the GW written IA books drop?

The only thing that messes with that is that I too sincerely believe R&H are coming to 40k.

So maybe it's that DKoK aren't getting GW love while everyone else will be?

I don't know, but I want all of these armies. Not only were Elysian buggies AMAZING, apparently, they're the thing that Valkyrie Sky Talons carry. I love the Sky Talon, but I've been told it's too small to carry cargo containers or rhino variants, so there's no point. Heck of a cinematic with magnets though, right.

R&H has a good core in Blackstone; a corrupt Commissar is so unexpected, it's really a cool character, and a whole multipart box of those Ogryns... Like I'd buy 3 of those without batting an eye. If they multipart the guard troops and boost it up to a full set of ten. There's cultists from BSF too, and they could also make 40k rules for the Necromunda Corpse Grinders- they're a pretty cool looking cult. The plastic cultist models from 40k aren't great, but there are more models from that set that aren't currently available- they could repackage it with all ten.

I think this is a decent way to both support Chaos in general AND make something new (or at the very least, revive something that was poorly supported with a new release).

That's a good faction to go with. Maybe a mixture of GSC, beastmen, poxwalkers, tzaangors and other stuff mixed with CSM daemon engines.

Take my 'a little bird told me' recommendations with a grain of salt, or don't- I was fairly accurate with the last batch of predictions I 'totally pulled out of my butt'- with the exception that the changes came much sooner than I thought (I thought we'd get 9e Next year).

But rumor has it that we'll see a R&H army mini-dex, probably in a future White Dwarf.

The reason is purely and simply that DKoK are still being sold and the other two aren't. Just like Legends, GW has zero interest in updating the points for things that make them zero money. Don't expect the remaining OOP things to be in the new FW 9th Books.

We especially know they have no interest in R&H because they have plans for Traitorous Militarum already.

Just talked to the guy with the DKOK army yesterday, he said he is just staying with 7th ed because he has the FW book for his army with all it's lore based rules from that edition. so he doesn't really care what GW does at this point as long as he can still get the minis. (they both looked at 9th and decided it wasn't for them either)

Same goes for his spouse. just staying in 7th or horus heresy, i feel loads of 30K games coming on when the lockdown finally ends.

I do not get any answer and my first mail to GW was more than one week ago.
But honestly i do not expect any solid answer, because GW is not the company who give a lot of informations about their plans to the community and when you look at GWs responses on Facebook, you will see they give in general little relevant information to the community.

All you can do at this point is wait for the new Forge World Indexes to see what is in and what is out. GW indicated they made new rules for Elysians during one of the Warhammer Daily board cast, so don't lose hope yet.

When was this? I remember them talking about dkok, but not Elysians. How can they have rules but no points? And they've been silent about the new fw books for some time. I'm not sure if that's a good sign.

I agree.

Honestly I'd like a more mixed Chaos Army. Like where you could run a mob of Cultists or Traitors led by a single Chosen in the squad.

Though honestly? In Kill-Team, playing Servants of the Abyss is actually fun. Not super-effective, but fluffy fun.

Mob Rule is not a rule.
