I aim at 1 a week but probably manage something like 40 a year in reality. I’ve got a backlog of 300 and hundreds more I’d like to buy. Realistically I’ll never finish them will I? But I’m still addicted to buying more….

I don’t keep track, but given probably 50% of my painting is for the monthly competition, I went for 1-25. Might be in the 25-50 category, but I can’t be sure.

I also have a lot of part-painted models, for three reasons 1) I hate leaving good paint on my pallet, so I try to use it up on another model if I end up with leftovers, 2) since I bought an airbrush I put 1 or 2 base colours on most of my models after priming and 3) I’m a horrible, fickle hobby butterfly with no patience…

I don't play games where I need more than 30 models on the table at a time, so I paint somewhere between 5 and 20 models a year.

I'm in the 76-100 minis a year category, although I went over 100 last year (115). This year I am sitting on two finished minis.

Inbetween 10 and 20.

I count my painting log over on my blog.

114 (best guess) since February last year to the Twisted Sisters for this February's contest; of course the overall average is dragged down by twenty years of nothing before that. I don't know that the contests have that much of an effect on my rate of finishing minis, but I feel like it's been a big help in staying interested in painting and converting in general (well, that and I don't want to stop and then contemplate how much wasted money the pile of boxed 'waiting to be painted' now represents).

easily 300+, probably in the range of 400-500/yr. I mostly paint 28mm for commission and my own, infantry I paint in batches of 30-40, infantry characters x1/day, cavalry/ogre 10-15, vehicles x2, IK x1 at a time over 7-10 days

My number is around 100 per year. But I paint in spurts and have hardly finished any. Counting from when I got my first Space Crusade mini to now, it works out to around 2.5 minis per year.

And I've just started repainting my Space Crusade minis while my Death Watch Killteam is sitting 80% on the sprue.

Well I only started painting December just past (2022)

So far, as of this months’ competition, I am on mini number 24…

At that rate I reckon I should get to 50 by December….

Figuring out my average per year from when I started through to now would take math I’m not comfortable using. And has peaks and valleys. Starting off, kid just getting into the hobby. Building up armies. Real job with real paycheck, but still living like a starving student (and dumping a lot of that money into the hobby) Supporting a family on a single income, tightening belt. Stay at home dad with plenty of free time. Divorced and free. It’s been a roller coaster.

I’ve been at this in one form or another since the mid/late 80’s. Probably over 1,000 minis, maybe a lot more. Honestly no clue. Some are for dead games/armies and boxed up. But if I’d maintained a 52/year pace, that’s like 2k minis painted. Legit scared to count everything.

One mini a week is a solid, achievable goal.

2021almost 1000.2022 700. This year 268 so far.

Terrain slows quite a bit.

This is what I painted last month. I've been excited to paint recently and couldn't stop. Painting minis has suddenly switched in my head from a chore to something I look forward to. Who would've thought?

I have painted about 150 ish this year, and about 200 ish last year.
