Baron, don't forget to talk about the SEALs and Marines you habitually beat up on 2 and 3 at a time, as you PM'd me about.

The crucified marine and the defense turret are both top notch with tons of personality. And thanks for the detailed tutorial on the broken storage crate. That’s another cool idea to give a standard piece of terrain something unique to make it stand out.

Hello there!

Just wanna quickly drop in here and show off a terrain piece I finished today. It was perfect weather outside, so I transferred my stuff to the terrace and started working on the finishing touches on this. I had it for a while, but only managed to finish it today because it's at my parents house and I'm rarely there. Cool thing about this piece: It's made entirely from trash. The idea for this thing came to me when I found some packaging material from a household appliance. The cardboard shell had such an interesting shape that I decided I had to use it for some terrain.

With the size and the shape, I thought this would be best suited for some kind of factory or generator-type terrain piece. I added some different levels to it using cardboard and plastic mesh. I used a pringles can for the base of a watchtower. I also built many railings and ladders using bird screen mesh. I'm really happy with how they turned out and I will definitely use this in future projects.

To further detail the piece, I cut out some custom gothic arches that were attached with hot glue, as well as some plastic pieces from the hardware store that looked like miniature vents.

This piece is meant to be used for Necromunda games, but also fits in with general 40k. Shame I don’t have anyone to play Necromaunda with so far :(

I added lots of debris to the piece so it would look right at home in the polluted reaches of imperial underhives. Ironically, the debris is mostly off-cuts from actual previous conversion/scratchbuild projects. I collect these junk bits and chippings in seperae containers and sprinkle them in with the rest of my flocking material. This makes for some very quick and easy but amazingly realistic garbage piles once painted up.

That’s all for now. However, I started another project today that is well on it’s way to being finished. I made a bunker from a Styrofoam ice cream takeaway box. Will post pics once it’s done, so stay tuned! Thanks for checking this out. I look forward to reading your comments

Until next time

Oooh, good job on this! I always keep seeing architecture in these weird packaging pieces, too - fun to see one turned into a proper terrain project.

Thanks MobileSuitRandom for your kind words! There's so much fun to be had recycling these materials and turning them into something useful for tabletop gaming. However, I have to make sure to avoid becoming a hoarder and storing all my trash in my cellar!
