Is it just me or has the quality of the Cults3d site really gone down the drain? I mean, it never was an amazing looking place, but now it's also super slow. Pictures just won't load anymore.

Then there was this whole thing of GW having tags removed from that site, which is just a nasty little trick to pull.

I've also noticed that some designer are migrating to other platforms such as Gumroad.

What are your thoughts on these developments?

I've had the image loading problem for the last few months. Sometime the images and 3d previews load no problem, but more often they don't. It's probably volume of searches and uploads taxing the system at certain times of the day. Cults (had) advantage being known within the community.
The removal of tags is overreach for sure, as sculpts could be counts-as/proxies without being ripoffs, but then Cults probably doesn't have the capital to get lawyers to challenge it.

I can see the appeal of MMF in both presentation, reliability, reputation and reach within the community, it's clear they use the subscription fees for upkeep; but then I don't have enough inventory to sell yet to warrant the subscription yet.
I'm going to steer more towards cgtrader and minihoarder, though at the moment the owner of MH personally verifies every upload so it can take a few hours before files go live.

I might look into CGTrader and MiniHoarder as well. I feel as if I should try to put the models up on as many platforms as possible just for the widest reach.

Agreed on MMF, I simply don't have the output and sales levels yet to justify paying a subscription fee.

Definitely. I don't care for the platforms for personal use, but for business twitter and instagram are basically musts for reaching audiences as well at this point; particularly if you get prints made.
