- Total pause on all Marine releases. Release the stuff that's already been announced, but we don't need anything else.

- New Phoenix Lord sculpts.

- Some new Dark Eldar characters, god knows why they're redoing Lelith when they could bring back one they scrapped in 6th Ed.

- Honestly, a PDF update giving all Marine equivalents (Chaos, Thousand Sons, Grey Knights, etc) the same stats as the standard book, along with an appropriate points change would be a good stopgap until the Codexes are released.

- Update to psychic-heavy armies such as Daemons, TS and GK so they're not as scuppered by the current rules such as "Smite-levels".

The last two could easily be released just as a PDF, while it would take some thought to rejig the points to reflect these changes I'm surprised GW didn't release some sort of update when they redid the SM book.

This would be a big project for GW.
At least, the aspect warrior kids should be reworked which has already been done for Banshees (and Incubi).

That's why I said the start of one. Obviously the Necron refresh would be ideal, but I'm not sure GW has it in them to do something similar again so soon.

The Necron-style 5th Edition refresh is both more needed and more likely than the Dark Eldar's 5th Edition refresh for the Craftworlds. While the Guardians and Dire Avengers could probably do with an update, they aren't nearly as needed with all the finecast still in the line.

And what the Necrons have just gone through is nothing compared to either of those events, imo.

It's also not been my general experience that new players are off-put by sculpts older than they are, or by Fine Cast in and of itself.

1st, they generally don't know, or care, how old a model is.... Because they're new to the game. And they also don't generally have any bad exp with Fine Cast - yet.
The "Hobby Poison" ? That's spewed out by existing players who're mad at GW for _(insert mostly asinine reasons here)_ & get's picked up on by the new players.

2nd, the RULES do a perfectly fine job of steering a prospective Eldar player away from Guardians (all types) & most aspects. It doesn't matter how old/new the sculpt, or what it's made out of.

As it stands, I don't think Primaris are getting a 10-man transport, at least not any time soon. If they were, I think it'd've arrived in either the Shadowspear wave of releases, or the Indomitus stuff.

Here's a slightly related wish - someone goes through all the In-or Steroid Marine units and gives them names which are more easily distinguished. Design studio is then educated with the concrete cluebat as to why names need to be distinctive.

You see all the people saying to get rid of Finecast? That's almost certainly why.

Not arguing that DE don't need at least 3 new generic characters (assuming the three branches stay split, then a generic Lt.-level character for each), but there is a small degree of method to the Lilith madness.

Yeah I know about the Impulsor but that is the razorback equivalent (less transport/more guns).

To be honest, just letting Primaris use Rhinos and Drop Pods would be perfect and wouldn't need anything new

There are very few 1st born units which don't have a Primaris unit now so fingers crossed they may hold off another big release until we're well into this edition though

Out of my Mind

My wishlist.

A complete Overhaul/Removal of the Matched Play section. It wouldn’t even be too much to ask that we get some sort of functional alternative that’s playable, or even relevant to the 40k community. Just really sucks that we’re going to have to wait through another edition before we see Tournament 40k instead of Tournament Matched Play. I’m still trying to remain optimistic.

Realistically though I’d be happy with a Maelstrom Mission Pack. We know it’s coming, I’d just like to see it sooner than later. Just none of that CA19 crap.

Model Wise, I’d like to see more character re-sculpts. Not just the ‘Primaris’ versions of existing Marine Hero’s. I like the Szeras and Fabius models. Abbadon, Jain Zar and Drazhar are also well done. Ghaz is just awesome. It’s the first time I’ve wanted to collect models just to paint them up. Zahndrekh has been a favorite of mine and I’m sure other players have their own favorites they’d love to see as well.

In terms of total model range refreshes, Craftworld and Guard are 100% in the greatest need. I'd also like to see Bezerkers and Noise marines in a new kit, because behind aspects they're arguably the worst-looking 'iconic unit' still in the game and they actually would work well with GW's current style of mono-loadout, minimum customizability. Ditto for Possessed Marines. CSM could use a wave 2 to purge their range of the rest of its ancient crap.

I hope that GW is going to push stuff further apart in 2021 and that we don't get a new eldar codex this year. DG, then maybe the other chaos stuff, 2ed wave sob and ad mecha, follwed by an tau or ork update at the end of the year. Would be a good thing for the game, people could enjoy their stuff for longer and maybe even play with their 9th rules when summer comes, like last year. I also hope that GW starts to do design work on GK this year, with the codex droping second half of 9th, after all the nerfs and knee jerk reaction changes to early 9th happen.

For my GK army, I would really really love the possibility to have a brother captain in nemesis deradknight and a brotherhood champion in nemesis dreadknight.

It would be awesome if on top of that there were a resculpt of the nemesis deradknight (a.k.a the baby carrier), which is the oldest model of the kind centerpiece - big robot stuff that GW did for the regular set of 40k.

Trygon/Mawloc kit and Tervigon/Tyrannofex kit are older. I will concede they've aged better, though.

The only downside of the Mawlock/Trygon kit is that it originally was supposed to be a near Knight level monster and by today's model (and Tyranid) standards is just average for a big bug. Heck the two smaller knight class Hieroduels from FW have suffered the same. Tyranids now lack an actual "knight equivalent" type model until you hit the titan scale.

My wishlist is short (and I'll still be disappointed):

Plastic Grotesques, preferably 5 to a box so GW isn't tempted to upscale them to the size of a Talos (and sell two for $80).

I'd like to see a customizable Inquisitor kit, along the lines of the Space Marine Commander box and the ability to be taken as an HQ choice for any Army of The Imperium.

I also want to be able to buy the DireChasm Slaanesh folks without, ya know, DireChasm. Just gimme the damned models.

I actually think these posts are generally completely sincere.
But since they don't map at all to GW's plans or intentions, they're more amusing than anything else.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.
