Count me in the "owns 30+ Termimators" club. I might have 60 if you count the original Space Hulk plastics.

Edit: I've also painted 40 Deathwing Terminators for someone on commission.

@Audustum,

That Necron list is fascinating!

I agree that the meta actually looks quite diverse right now. I think it’s a good time to be playing 40k (competitively or not).

Cheers,

I wonder how that Necron list scores objectives, especially against Hordes. Or is there some special obsec trick? I don't know new Necrons that well.

Its a very 'Meta' list tho. Most armies have pivoted away from high RoF D2/3 weapons into Melta for their anti tank and Quantum Shielding is pretty ok again that (tho less crazy then it was before).

Still not feeling the Doomsday Arks tho, way to unreliable.

I think it does a lot of body blocking. Lots of lists just don't bring enough anti-tank to take all of that quantum shielding out pus the CCBs are really killy.

3 Dooms day arks shooting from turn 1 average 10ish str 10 ap -4 d6 damage shots a turn. They also have blast so that helps a little vs medium sized squads too.

This list beats you by destroying anything that comes out into the open and it uses the Nightbringer to funnel units into his firing lanes (cause aint nobody wanna fight that).

The annihilation barges are pretty great too. Typically not included because HS slots are few but this guy just says skrew command points the only strats I am gonna use are 1 CP anyways. This list is also putting out 40 str 7 tesla shoots a turn that are ap-1 at half range from mephrite. More than enough to drop 20-30 man hordes.

....I think I might own at least 25 terminators. And I'm ME. I just happened to have the 5 terminators from the old AOBR starter, 5 terminators from space wolves terminator kit, and the contents of space hulk which is like 15 maybe? They're a third of my deathwatch, which is all veterans, vanvets, and terminators, plus HQs.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Doomsday arcs don't work well with average because its d6 shots doing d6 damage. The spread is to big, yes 'average' looks nice on paper but the decent chance to do nothing will cost you games and with it, tournaments.

I get what you are saying but this is true of every unit in the game - when they roll poor they don't do well. Over the course of the game you can expect from good and bad rolls from DDA. When they roll good they are typically picking up a tank. They also have 20 str 4 ap -1 shots and are really durable with 14 wounds max 4+ to wound and a buffable invul save.

This list has a really heavy skew to mech which is surprising. I usually include 1 and only 1 DDA as a command reroll is pretty effective at mitigating their swing. If you start with a high number of shots things are dying.
