"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

I really like the Dunkirk soundtrack. Anytime I play DDay At Omaha Beach I blast that and really, really get into it

A very specific example.

Chris Cornell, You Know My Name, from Casino Royale.

As one of Bond’s periodic reboots, it was the intro film for a new era.

In its way, its suitably hyper masculine. A song full of threat and a certain form of glory.

But....listen to the words (or look them up)? I put it to you this isn’t a song about Bond as a person, so much the role he takes on early in the film. Its a song about a 00 agent’s ultimate disposability. That when you achieve that rank, Queen and Country will use you and replace you when you meet your inevitable death.

Also, it’s effing ace

I have that on regular rotation; it is truly an excellent song.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Good choice Dok. I love the uneven rhythm to that song. I have no idea what the technical term for it is

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Here’s a banger from a justifiably well regarded movie series.

Mostly because the Jazz band playing near me house (don’t ask) was playing it.

Lyrics, music, setting? All perfect. The ideal song for any training montage. Or when you’re feeling low, and you take some time out to reflect on what you’ve overcome in the past, and knowing you can do it again.

Starship Trooper by Basil Poledouris and Conan also by him, are both outstanding soundtracks.

Add LOTR, Start Trek and of course Star Wars and you got a playlist that will last all day.

The Crow. One of the first purchases I made on my own as a kid, on cassette.

Little Shop of Horrors. A classic movie. The only Musical I could ever get into.

A Clockwork Orange. Great music to clean the house to.

Queen of the Damned. NuMetal greatness. Chester, Wayne, and Jay gordon kill it.

Honorable mention goes to the Scorsese film Mean Streets, although I don't own the album. My favorite Scorsese movie with a great 70s Soundtrack that always pops into my head.

Almost forgot about the Blues Brothers! Amazing Soundtrack.

I could keep going....

If we’re talking tape based soundtracks.

Cher vehicle Mermaids. Some classic rock n roll on that line up.

Watch Fortress Excalibris

John Debney's score for The Passion of the Christ is phenomenally good.

I have never actually seen the movie. Nor do I have any intention of ever seeing it. But that music is so cool that every single RPG campaign I have GMed since 2004 has been at least partly set in a pseudo-middle-eastern location just to give me an excuse to use that score as background music.

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

I'll watch anything with Hoskins, the whole Winona thing was just a bonus

I liked the Baby Driver soundtrack an odd mix of stuff from his pilfered ipod collection seemlessy slid into the film by depressing clever Mr Wright

A few pop song soundtracks that are worth a listen:
Romeo + Juliet (1996)
Good Morning Vietnam
Godzilla (1998)

and personal favourite:
Batman Forever
The film might be crap and the music selection all about the place, but it's 20 years later and I still regularly put this selection on. U2, Seal, Mazzy Star, Offspring, PJ Harvey (utterly filthy in her delivery!), Nick Cave, Michael Hutchence (in a brilliant cover). Brandy! I don't even like Brandy, but I love this song by her.

Interstellar
Last Samurai
Wind River

That's scores...

as for Soundtracks, I do like the mix of music in Lock, Stock and Snatch.

When it comes to movie trailers....if it has a NIN song playing, I'm watching.

Lastly, you know things have gone wrong when Radiohead's "Exit Music (To a Film)" begins to play
