If we’re going for similar films, Ferngully and Avatar. Could also make it a triple feature with Pocahontas

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Anything Harry Hausen and The Thing, just to see how special effects have changed over time. And that stop motion is no less impressive than clever cuts and some excellent physical props.

If you wanted to juxtapose The Thing with crap CGI (and specifically crap CGI), that would be the double feature that just keeps on doubling.

Bride of Frankenstein and terminator 2.

They had a lot in common. Frankenstein started the trend of a great movie having a better sequel, followed by a bad threequel.

Both featured a creation of mankind in the end developing some positive emotion and committing self destruction as a result.

Barbarella and Danger! diabolik!

Both are italian made, both have john phillip law, both are surrealistic and both basically provide the experience of taking LSD without the possibly undesirable side effects.

I'd actually say barbarella is kind of easier to watch as at least in it the protagonist doesn't cheerfully and causally murder innocent people en masse while being portrayed as a type of good guy.

For a double shot of pure so bad it's hilarious fun, try this double feature import:

"The x from outer space"

The green slime."

Both are japanese space monster movies (Tho the green slime was originally going to be part of an italian spaghetti western series of movies called the gamma-1 series and was made by MGM, with an almost serious professional feel to it in some places.)

Here's the official trailer for the green slime.

if this doesn't have you wanting to see it, all i can say is "WTF is wrong with you?"
