I tried the black primer on the ork boyz and I think I like it. Its a pain to get off my hands but the one boy I did I finished off a lot quick than the one i did with the gray primer. I also swapped out the 25mm bases on the boys with 32mm bases. I am trying to figure out why these were on 25mm bases with a 92 copyright when these are not 92 boys.

I think my biggest issue right now is trying to figure out the right consistency for this paint. I either get it super watery or it dries chalky looking. I cant seem to get in between.

Looking good infidel305. The chequers are really cool, well done as they’re tricky to do. I too have found Army Painter paints a bit tricksy to work with, I’ve also had them be too watery and then dry out before I’m done using them . Getting decent photos is a tricky business too, have a look at this from GW.
As for the bases, the design was copyrighted in 1992. They were used in many kits since then. Larger 32mm bases are pretty new I believe.

yeah my phone camera was sucking. I been working on the checkers. As my hand gets steadier they become a little easier. Im waiting on some vallejo paints before i really sink into more. I just got a 3d printer so im experimenting with that for some test painting. I dont want to mess with my HQ before i get my painting down. I do have some nice models for HQ waiting to be painted though. Warboss grukk set, Ghaz, Weirdboy all waiting to go. I will keep messing with boyz and grots till I get my stuff down.
