I would like to see female Marines added by him, though. Would be cool.

It’s the obvious next step.

So now mentioning female Astartes is gaslighting? Having just this week had a training on gas lighting in my Veteran's Therapy group, I'd love to know what your definition of gaslighting is?

As for precedent, there is countless precedent for powerful pskers inhabiting bodies other than their own. I suggest you read up on Pontius Glaw

Who was a chaos Cultist who became a daemon host(?) within a cyborg body?

Daemon hosts are literally just that. Powerful Psker breings that inhabit mortal bodies to have agency outside the warp.

Inquisitor:Martyr is literally about putting a extremely powerful psyker into a machine spirit, thus creating a sentient but basically human AI.

the emperor isn't a human man anymore. he's something else. we've seen him leave messages, take posession etc. he's NOT subtle

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I mean didn't He fully take over the soul of a child and confront Mortarion in Plague War? Like its a whole subplot about Guilliman hating the Church and saying the Emperor isn't a God, then he sees the Emperor do a straight-up miracle right in front of his face.

I didn't think that (current background-wise) he ever was, being essentially a tulpa of the-concept-of-humanity as brought about by ancient human pseudo-psykers, thus external to, but *of* capital-H Humanity. Thus keeping going back to the well of extrinsic "protectors" of a species he acts as a surrogate for but doesn't belong to.

Is the universe ready for transhuman females? I'd be curious to see how much more or less popular it would be than Sisters of Battle.

I'm not quoting that as it's offensive and rediculous. But yes. A large portion of us are ready to end exclusionary old lore from 20 years ago the even GW says isn't relevant anymore.

There’s a whole thread about it. Come have this discussion here. But leave the childish pictures out of it though.

I think the other thread covers the discussion fine.

I would imagine one of the top things on the list for the imperium Cawl would be spending some time thinking about is what if anything can be done for the fading astronomicon. Without some way to stabilze it, I would think the writing is certainly on the wall for the imperium.

I thought the Astronomicon was literally just the psychic light cast off by the Emperor, like his psychic presence?

I may be way out of date but I remember the Astronomicon being a dedicated bank of psykers which amplified the emperors power to guide ships through the warp, like a lighthouse. They regularly needed replacing as their heads burnt out. That was always the way I heard it, but I'm well aware of how much things have changed!

The Emperor is the lamp and the Psykers are the batteries. The Astronomican actually has a sort of life about it as well, like a Warp echo of the Emperor.

I think they wanted a big "lore-friendly" way to upgrade Space Marines specifically, as they were more or less re-releasing the entire range. Other factions have had new vehicles/weapons/etc added without any real fluff as to why.

I'm guessing Cawl will pop up with whatever the next big story beat is for GW. He's their Iron Man - if something big and important has to get created, then he's apparently the only genius the 41st millennium has.

2k poorly optimized Necrons.
1k poorly assembled Sisters.

I guess they have a delicate balancing act... if they add too many new geniuses, people start to question exactly how many of these innovative megaminds the Imperium has (and tolerates). If they have too few, then it seems like he's a Mary Sue (or Marty Stu).

Well, after the Big E smacked Morty in the mouth didn't he say something about "when he's learned his place he can return"? So Morty might go back to a loyalist?

Never take anything the Emperor says at face value. One of His core traits is that the end justifies the means and those means can be anything.
Spoilers for Wrath of Magnus.
Spoiler:
Magnus is allowed to get into the Throne Room during the Siege where the Emperor says he can rejoin the Imperium and get a brand new Legion, as long as he kills the Tsons he brought with him (Ahriman, Amon, and some others). Magnus obviously says no but there's no reason the Emperor wouldn't do it again. He would rather have his most potent tools on his belt rather than the Chaos Gods.

Nope, that was in the New Dark Imperium books
Spoiler:

Basially bobby G picks a fight with him and gets ragdolled by Morty.

With his last breath Bobby calls out to the Emperor, who basically force controls Bobby, and starts talking to Morty through Bobby. This freaks Morty out, and then the Emperor smacks morty REALLY hard, and leaves as Bobby.

So that means the emperor now has the ability to cute people of chaos corruption?

I’m sure this is just the fluffiest fluff, GW aren’t going to bring Mortarion back to the imperium.

But I do feel that the primarchs have been made the most prominent part of the 40K background now through the HH books and the return of RG, Morty and Magnus. It feels like something is missing by not having them all return to the active story line/tabletop.

Presumably because Fabulous Bill has already cloned Primarchs successfully. And in at least one case they seem reasonably sane and uncorrupted (for now, though that ended in a way that makes that not matter so much).

However, he's not really interested in doing it again, and sees them as a dead end at odds with his own projects.

What would be interesting s if you have the loyalist primarchs, the traitor demon primarchs, and then the 18 cloned primarchs who don’t side with the imperium or chaos and don’t fall out with each other.

Cos what 40K needs is even more primarchs ha!

Has Cawl got the skills to build custodes? I’m not even sure how they make new ones, that’s my fault, but it thought custodes were all hand built by the emperor himself

He may, conceivably, have the genetic blueprints or whatever, as the Primarch project was, to the best of my knowledge, a further development of the Custards.

However, given he knows he’s treading a fine line of being declared Heretek, it seems equally conceivable he knows not to go too far and start churning them out.

Then whole Primaris thing was on the direct, explicit orders of Roboute Guilliman, the then Lord Commander of the Imperium. That gives him certain implied and implicit authority to get that job done. But it’s still no a blank cheque to pursue whatever, because he must always have assumed Guilliman would return, as he’d also ordered Cawl to find ways to resurrect him should the worst happen (according to the 40K Fandom wiki, anyway).

Cawl definitely doesn't have a blank cheque. Guilliman has flat out refused his requests to be made Fabricator General and Guilliman has said he knows Cawl's worth but absolutely doesn't trust him. He's right not to because Cawl is as sketchy as they come.
