Cheers Olthannon! I got the wooden spoon at the RTT but got to fight the new 'quins and tau, and sell the lives of my troopers dearly for the Emperor. I've now decided the only sane response to the current meta is to scratch build a Malcador Infernus - watch this space.

I forgot to post the finished sentinels, here they are:

PaddyMick,

Your Sentinels remind me a bit of the original running egg version from Rogue Trader.

Cheers,

Thanks Captain, I remember those but never owned one.

Here's the Malcador Infernus I'm working on in order to kill space elfs more efficiently.
I managed to find a toy tank in a charity shop for £10 which is about the right size, and the rest is bits box vehicle stuff, cardboard and insides of an old VCR.

Some painting progress on the Malcador. It's not far off ready. I've had to put the flamer sponsons at the front. Those and the turret and tank is magnetized so I can use the base to mount something else in the future.

The Malcador Infernus is finished. Pictured here with the markings of the Eolian Desert Fighters and a special weapons flamer squad for scale. I can feel a Pyromaniacs army list coming on. Next up: flamer sponsons for my Leman Russ moulded out of Milliput.

Sure is, ta Gwyn, i'm taking a pyro list to a tournament next month, i'll post n army shot nearer the time.

Changing tack, and slowing down, a new army project, seen earlier in the thread, is now well underway. This is a personal best for me for painting, and the weathering was really fun - wanted it to look beat up and dirty.

Very nice! The weathering is well done- it's easy to go overboard and foul everything up beyond all recognition (FUBAR). Good use of color to make things pop too- the yellow fuel tank underneath, the bits of red. I particularly like the no-slip plating in the bottom of the crew area: grubby where it should be, dull but comparatively clean where it shouldn't. That's an area that is too easy to get carried away in (no pun intended).

Cheers Meer_Cat! Army Painter can take some credit for their special effects paints and tips on the website.
I was a little afraid of overdoing it as it was my first proper go at weathering, so deliberately held back, and i've never had a problem calling a model done as i'm always excited to move onto the next thing...which will be.... ridgerunner buggies. But loads of infantry to do first.

Cheers lord. iit get's a flank to itself during deployment. Hopefully the enemy is too scared of it expoloding to actually want to shoot or fight, and they all just run away.

Cheers guys really appreciate it.
I've got another squad of sentinels to do, then an RTT to play in June, then i'll be packing this army away for a while, so will get a shot of the full 5000+ pts before I do.
Then it's more ork vehicles I reckon.

In the meantime, here's the Guard army warlord, featured in another thread, repeated here, 'cos even though he's not a vehicle, he might have to 'count as' one in games.

I have started on three buggies for my Blood Axes. The conversion work from the GSC ridgerunner kit is pretty minimal and mostly i've just stripped them down and not used the safety rails, lights etc. Metal old school crew though, and an AM heavy weapon team autocannon for the main gun 'cos i've got loads and it looked about big enough. They will count as Boomdakka Snazzwagons.

The buggies are finished, as well as a Freebooter Bad Doc Painboy, who will be converting some Castellan Robots into Dreadnoughts for me soon....

I'm also eyeing up those necromunda ash wastes vehicles..... but plenty of infantry to get painted first. Reckon when what i've got now for this army is done, i'll get some nice photos, make a showcase thread, and then treat myself.

I've decided on the weapon load out, they are going to be close combat dreads. It's a dreadmob, with rogue bad doc painboy and a bad mek, and want to make them look evil. Heroclix doc octopus arms and heroquest orc weapons.

Looking very Killy and choppy! love the dynamic motion you've put into the chains.

Kraang would be proud, you'll have to do an Orky technodrome now - it could count as a mega stompa!

Plan next is to do a Mega Dread from an Armiger Chassis. Then it's a Battlewagon using the Cargo 8 Ridgehauler.
Lots of infantry to paint first though.

I've added a magnetised Deff Rolla. As with the Trukk, i'm leaving off most of the fiddly bits, ladders and safety rails, and the roof of the cab. I've put magnets under carraige so the warboss's retinue can go on top and not fall off.
