Being so specific (and not much use for 40k) it's obviously going to be one of those things that some will love to bits and everyone else will be indifferent to.

As I play a lot of mesoamerican I adore the set, and it's the best value IMHO as it's all long, low walls so it covers more table than the "Sector Imperialis" knockoff styles.

I was hoping that AoS Seraphon players would gobble Kazumi Temple bits up but that does not seem to be the case.

From the other thread, hat tip to Orlando the Technicolored.

After two years of development, we are happy to invite you to another battle! This time in the ruined city!

23rd of November, we are launching a new campaign on Kickstarter, and we are not starting without you! Featuring functional floors, bridges, and an all-new City Ruins Theme, Third Edition is the most complete terrain ever.

https://archon-studio.com/blog/rampart3

New Theme
We have also designed the all-new theme, “City Ruins”. It will support all your urban warfare, whether you’re waging your battle in the 1940s or in the 40th Millenium. This theme is rich with details and each piece of terrain has two sides - one featuring the external part of the building, the other more of the interior. If you are more into room-fighting, City Ruins got you covered.

Clear Plastic
After a successful implementation in Dungeons & Lasers, we are introducing clear plastic to the Rampart’s Universe. The new technology is coming in the Stretch Goals and in the new add-ons.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/archonstudio/rampart

Bridges and roofing
We have redesigned the Rampart flooring system from scratch. “Functional floors” come as a universal add-on compatible with every theme, and they are capable of holding quite a lot of weight. So bring out your tanks, mechs, and all the infantry you can get - the floor is lava!

We are planning plenty of Stretch Goals and a large part of them are going to be standalone objects, slightly bigger than your average oil barrel or supply crate. This time, infantry will get some cover!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I've likes the Ramparts stuff I've had (mainly Kazumi temple), but the previous floors were pretty poor or if you were building intact buildings totally useless) so this looks a better idea

(although DIY foamboard will still probably be cheaper)

so i'll look forward to seeing more of what they have to offer

This really needs some filler pieces to cover over the plug holes on the corners and the gap between floors on the outsides of the walls. But otherwise looks fantastic.

I brought the gaps up in their discord and the official word is... they've got them covered

They are also planning 5 inch x 5 inch tiles - I guess this is the size limit of their tooling machines.

I've been following their updates since they first announce this was happening. But I some how missed where ever they previewed these floor tiles. Where was that?

Interesting they went with tile size that limits sales to gw players

Well. Not fan of plastic board. Will stick with foams and cloth

There's no good tile size that would reliably hit both classic and nu-GW sizes, but I was hoping for 8x4" instead of 5x5. Anyway even at Archon prices tiling a full table will probably be cost prohibitive to a lot of people, not really sure why they're going for it. Secret Weapon's plastic tiles sure didn't fly off the shelves.

That was good.

Anyway looks like this has some potential, especially for non-skull encrusted cities. I've not bought Rampart before, how are prices?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/archonstudio/rampart-stylish-and-modular-terrain/description

Core set plus stretch goals is priced at $49. That’s probably enough for a 2 foot by 2 foot area (Killteam for example)
A 6x4 table probably requires the $99 2 cores or $149 3 cores depending on how dense you like your terrain.

Kazumi core set pictured below - I picked Kazumi as it has similar sized tiles to the ruins preview. The new floors might alter the parts list a bit.

Is the Kazumi stuff available for those prices through this current Kickstarter?

Idk about that, but it looks like you can go to the original kickstarter they linked and late pledge at those prices. Haven't actually tried to order anything, but it will let you add the pledges to cart. Can even select the StarCide Teaser and, even better, the Wolverine Tank.

Seeing people don't in practice care about 72"x60" board size whether it works for that is irrelevant. Especially as 5" doesn't work for it anyway.

4" would allow working with new minimum which is what people have largely switched to anyway. 5" doesn't. So those who follow gw minimum size as holy bibble won't touch this with 10 foot pole...it's harder to cut away excess here than mat's and they are already cutting up mats they have paid.

Is Gameround their pledge manager, or a retailer?

Pledge manager, but they use it as their webshop. Works fine, just takes a while for delivery.

if you want multiples check the cost/usefulness of the bonus stuff as they're still giving you a tank (but only one per order)

so you need to weight the cost of multiple deliveries against the value of the bonus goodies to you

The tank looks pretty bad in the bare plastic, but it does paint up well, and fits very well in 40k with tons of rivets. Just add an aquila. Shipping costs probably breaks the bank for splitting up a large purchase just for the tank though.

Quick question on the previous rampart, how long does it usually take for them to pick up an order made through gamefound? (in case anyone who ordered recently is able to say)

I am not very keen on ordering without having some typical reference for the waiting to be expected as I often have to coordinate with family to actually receive the orders, so just wanted to check if there is a reliable waiting period or not.

about a week or two for dispatch when I did a recent order if I remember right, so a bit longer than normal online shopping,

If you are UK based do make multiple orders of £135 or less, this way you pay your VAT to Archon rather than on import. If you pay on import the shipping firm (Fed Ex) will gouge you.

A Wolverine tank each order is a good incentive to make multiple orders also, the vehicle is good. It can serve as a not-Chimera or a not-Russ. If you want a Russ glue the infantry compartment, if you want a Chimera replace the turret with a small resin one, or just downgrade the gun.

My only concern with the Wolverine is the stowage molded onto the extra armour. i wish they didn't do that as it means it is hard to customise the tank, leaving stowage off means leaving the underlying armlour panel off which doesn't look right as it looks bad to mix and match and so you end up either all on or all off.

The free commissar is a good mini, and there are some nice pieces in the stretchgoals but most is junk.

The main problem is the way the ceiling walkways are put together, basically they do not work. Do not buy extras ceiling pieces, you want use most of them, youi need to custom make ceilings though you can make use of the ceiling supports.

Please do. I'm going to wait until the KS in case there is something new that catches my eye, but if not I might use the gamefound way.

For D&L they locked the previous pledges on Gamefound just prior to the KS they might do the same again for Rampart so waiting might mean you have to go with the KS offers and rapid delivery on the stuff that already exists.

I'll have to live with that I guess. The lure of free add on is too strong Also I have too many things to paint that I can wait a bit more.

I have to admit their habit of closing earlier late pledge options and making earlier items either more expensive or unavailable in follow on kickstarters is one reason why we finally stopped procrastinating on our late pledge.

Kazumi Temple items are not guaranteed to be available in the next Rampart KS as so far they have not shown any new Kazumi bits and I have heard Kazumi sold very poorly.

Well, I was surprised to see we got an email from FedEx saying we should get a parcel from Archon Studio on Friday. I do not think it is our D&L 3 pledge yet, so should be our Rampart 2 late pledge. If so, that was quick. Will let you folks no more on Friday.
