With a look at my Renegades list i could just not come and play i guess, forfeiting?

For cursed CSM, skip endless cacophony...oh and bring CSM instead of cultists....

I play Sisters, Guard, Marines, Grey Knights, and Custodes

For nerfs that I think would improve the game:

Remove Supplements
Remove Campaign Books
Remove Doctrines/Sacred Rites/etc.
Remove Chapter Tactics/Convictions/Doctrines/etc
Remove Relics
Remove Warlord Traits
Remove Stratagems

Infantry, Bikes, and Cavalry cannot fire Heavy weapons after moving
Infantry, Bikes, and Cavalry cannot charge after firing Rapid Fire weapons



After that, to address specific things in my factions that I would change that would be considered nerfs
Revert Multimelta to single-shot
Revert Space Marines to W1
Revert "Artificer Storm Bolter/Ministorium Heavy Flamer" to just being a Storm Bolter and Heavy Flamer
Revert Power Swords to S User, and so on for other power weapons.
Remove Total Obliteration/similar rules
Return the Exorcist to 1d6 shots
Return FRF-SRF to +1 shot
Remove Duty Eternal/similar rules
Remove Transhuman Physiology-type rules


[I'm not going to count removing Grinding Advance, because while I do think it should go, it should also be accompanied with drastic changes to the actual profiles of the weapons]

For me the most obvious thing I see GW doing to Guard is removing the ability for Officers to order themselves. I just see that happening. No more Straken getting to fight twice, no more Company Commanders moving halfway across the board by issuing Move! Move! Move! on themselves, no more Tank Commanders giving themselves reroll to hit of 1 (even though thematically at least this one makes sense, as they're ordering their crew, not themselves literally).

I do agree with you. Removing Grinding Advance makes it easier to balance the Leman Russ with other vehicles.

However, the amount of buffs it needs to remain at 160 points would probably be a lot. Something like:
- 14 wounds
- 2+ save against ranged attacks (3+ save against melee)
- Battle cannon flat damage 3 (other turret weapons get similar buffs)

Even with all that, I still don't think a Russ is worth 160 points. Maybe 140 tops.

The obvious thing would be make AFP/CIB commanders only.
