Undecided what exactly I'm gonna paint, but we have in the mix: A very scary assassin, some Undead folks and two guys apparently dressing up for trick-or-treating.

Judge Fear is essentially done:

His base is kind of boring, but I'm planning to do all four at once, after I've finished painting.

Now showing more Samurai Marines, Bad Squiddo Amazons, and an Oldhammer Chaos Thug!

Painting total as of 3/28/2024: 21 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

I may have to change my choice of model, I'll see in a few days

I’m getting on well with painting the scarecrow snake so I’m going to add another mini.

This fella’s coming along nicely and will have a vampire cape to fit the theme for a second seasonal snake.

One vampire snake primed and ready to paint.

I'm making some progress on the Dark Judges:

I'm not entirely certain what to do with their bases, but I know they need something more than just static grass tufts. Skulls? Severed limbs? Pretty flowers?

Do you want to keep with the palette or contrast it?

As everything is already on the drab and gloomy side, I might toss a few skulls and bones around.

I forgot to take pic of my entry after priming. Here’s a photo with some paint on him. If it’s an issue I’ll withdraw from the monthly challenge.

Nice sigismund! I love seeing progress pics like these. What did you use for the initial lines there?

WIP.

Next step is to flock them and pick the spookiest 5.

(and polish off the last biker that has been haunting my workbench for far too long, he needs a different flavor of flock and decals, but is not part of this comp)

I know I know... I'm late to the game. Got sick. Then I changed my mind on what I wanna paint. So... yeah anyways I'm gonna do this big beauty. She's about twice as big as my trex. (My monitor is enormous lol)

Thanks ! Everything was made with thinned black paint and size 0 brush. It is not perfectly symmetrical but I'm quite happy with the result so I call it done.

For what I believe is my first ever entry, I will be putting forward my LotD themed Assault Intercessor. Spooky ghost zombie flame plague space marines should be spooky enough, I think?

My set up is just an old box and my desk lamp with my phone camera, so the pics are rather poor. Lets make this a lovely spooky Halloween!

Spoiler:

The first pic was with the flash. I didn't like how the image turned out overall, but it showed a few details that didn't come out as well without the flash, so I'm including it.

I probably won't do anything more with this model as I'm trying to get a whole squad done, but if I do I'll put up some new pics.

I'm not going to be able to enter this month, to much IRL work going on, good luck people

Um guess I should eventually start painting something? Assembled those earlier this month, I'll just begin with the gallows/axe dude and see how far I get. In oils maybe? Hmmm

Final Pics:

These guys came together surprisingly quick. I guess they are basic rank and file for an army I’ve got my technique dialed in. Took me longer to dither about picking the best 5. 10 more of these guys still on sprue is the last of the Soul Wars box.

All 10 (not for judging)

Many spooky scary entries poppin'.
Great work so far everyone!

@sigismund22: That is a genious twist to the model! Well done.

@Nevelon: Liking the color scheme, and the contrast that the base provides!

Was not sure I'd be taking part this month.
I have not been overly active on the painting / forum lurking side, so I have already missed quite a few challenges this year.

I started painting my kitbashed Archon, when I realized it could actually fit the theme. Being a "space vampire" and all.
Started building him last month, but he sat on my desk for weeks waiting for inspiration. Finally picked him up a week ago and started painting.

Luckily I took a few pictures of the unpainted guy. Note, the plastic on the kit is red for some reason.
Proof:

Finished Archon (one bonus pic with the graveyard terrain from last halloween):

This guy might divide opinions, as the original model is pretty darn awesome. I just wanted to make it a bit more fitting to the Drukhari 'space vampire' army that I got going on.

Hi All

League table has been updated here

https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/732117.page#9481149

For my entry I decided I would take a break form my normal stuff and do something completely different.

I found this model on E-bay several years ago for cheap because it was pretty broken and missing bits. I thought it would work for a Halloween challenge and if an Undead monster is missing bits it probably won't be that obvious or I can convert it in some way. Lets see how I get on.
