You need to be really good at converting and sculpting to get Sister Sin out of one of those models without looking... bad. And if you have those skills, you don't need those models anyway.

Regarding quality: sure, the guys know how it works, but it's not exactly notably good. If they hide their skills just to copy models that where bad in the late 80's when they were released - good job. But even at this time Citadel had designers to create far more superior miniatures - those two original female PA models look like trash compared to several models from the same era. They're not the only ones though - there was a range of really ugly pirates back then.

You have to post this when it's done!

Satyr has a second way of RT style Sisters and some RT style guard.

Gotta say he's got the 1987 look down pat.

I feel like the giant pics aren't doing those sculpts any favours. At actual size, they would fit in nicely with RT-era sculpts.

With the worst of them, yes.

The first trooper had to look too long at the range, so his glasses and eyes melted. The glasses on the nose tip of the third model are nice, though. Her moustache not.

I just don't get it why someone want's to buy models that mimic the ugly adventurers and pirates range with even less quality.

I bought the first wave of heavy troopers. They fit in perfectly with Fast-Star John from the Rogue Trader Mercenaries range.

I'm just sad that the Dwarf on hoverboard is out of stock presently.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Yep pretty much this. If you zoom in to this degree it will pick up things human eye cannot see.

Getting a healthy Judge Dredd vibe from those, and the sword/book combo figure is really cool. I'd probably green stuff a gas mask or something on to the lower half of the face and incorporate the sunglasses

Update, there's a set of RT-inspired troopers vs RT-inspired bugs on the way.

Not for everyone, but if Rogue Trader minis are your bag it's worth a look.

I have a soft spot for the old style Tyranids but why should I buy twenty of the same model (and those troopers I don't care about)?

I completely agree with Dryaktylus. I'd take a look at the Tyranids, too, but $150 for a large set with lots of repetitions (how many unique Tyranid sculpts are there? One?) and imperial guard stand-ins that I don't want just isn't appetizing. I'll pass.

I hope Satyr abandons this package-deal-only style of selling specific minis in the future. Most Oldhammer-style companies sell their minis individually at reasonable prices (Alternative Armies, Matchlock miniatures, Diehard Miniatures, Knightmare Miniatures, Prince August / Warzone, Crooked Dice, Beast of the Broch, need I go on?) Trying to wrangle higher sales out of customers like this is off-putting.

Drew was just diagnosed with a brain tumor.

https://www.facebook.com/satyrartstudio

He's running a Go Fund Me site to cover the costs, fans might also want to pick up some minis from his store.

Wishing him health and a smooth recovery.
