Passed on Bones VI, and Anastyr got me with the totem terrain.

$40 for 46 terrain bits. Too many totems, not enough man-eating plants, demon trapped in amber, stone fountain puking amber, dormant (maybe) volcanic vents I can stick in a cavern, and immobile ballistae. Fun for the whole family.

The terrain bits replace standees in all the expansions. So, if you don't buy the expansion add-on that the terrain bit goes with... eh, you weren't going to get around to playing that expansion, anyway. were you.

Core set and expansions about the same price as Reaper, but magnets, terror birds, and ridiculously large miniatures. Core set SG's will result in a free expansion. And plastic rocks.

Company's still riskier than Reaper, and shipping prices are $40+.

I think there is something like 103 miniatures in the core right now with more on the way...

It is risky given geopolitics, but at least the price per mini is looking pretty amazing.

I've started saving for the inevitable "All in" pledge.

I just love the art direction and all the cool mounts and mounted miniatures too much.

Terror birds! Sabertooth Tigers! Drakes! It is all too much fun.

It looks great, it really does. And the scenery would be useful for so many things. But, as its Mythic, we'll be lucky to see it by 2024, and the game will need a 1.5 edition to fix the inevitable issues. As well as Sam Healy go ving out to backers for adking questions and raising concerns, whilst they release a bunch of other Kickstarter projects that will then take precedence.as well as the costs of VAT and shipping.
So, can't be arsed.

I do like the terrain sets that they have released for this game to fill in for the cardboard pieces in the games. They should be handy for lots of games and not a bad price either.

I really like this tbh, if I had more confidence in them I'd back all in. Instead I think I'll hedge my bets and spread the pain, going in on the core pledge and then paying extra when the pledge manager comes out. Ideally all in, but I guess that depends on how the post campaign progress looks

Sounds good. I did that with MonPoc.

Latest $60 expansion has three giants, a lady riding a dragon, and a lady with a bear! I already have giants, lady riding a dragon, and bears.

All-In is $400, and includes bling.

Last day and it looks like the $130 Companion pledge will include the core set, an expansion, and a terrain expansion, along with the bonus figure.

And alt sculpts which... eh, I'd rather have more mini's.

I gotta say that core box is looking pretty sweet with 121 miniatures for $130 USD. That is some pretty crazy value. Especially considering some of those minis are huge.

Ended up backing out at the last minute. The expansion you get free is my least favourite by a mile and I can't see myself ever wanting to paint that many birds or that much bone/skin/fur combos. It's a shame as I really like a lot of the models, but Zombicides shipping has scared me off unless I am beyond 100% confident. Might try and hunt for it on ebay when the dust has settled and I don't have the unknown factors

I hear you. For me the gamble was worth it. At $1 a mini for the core box it is killer value.

The game even looks like it could be fun!

I went for an all in pledge. I'm expecting a $100 shipping charge for it.

Understood. All the expansions look the same to me and I have enough giants.

CMON continuously d cks its backers. I remember when it posted shipping charges only for the BASE game when it was obvious that the SG's doubled the number of mini's. CMON increased the shipping of Bloodborne, after the campaign ended, in the PM without telling backers. CMON was one of the earlier enforcers of VAT, again, doing so after the campaign (Massive Darkness?) ended, without telling backers. And now this. While companies can't control the costs they have to pay, that still doesn't mean you're obligated to purchase something whose price is higher than you'd like, or from a company whose customer service you disagree with. I did pick up their Undead or Alive, and CMON delayed the PM opening by five months probably because of some sort of agreement in their Marvel United KS.

Anyway, comments said that Mythic will have a Deadlands, Elric, and Cthulhu boardgame in the future, so there's no end to the plastic on KS. I originally was going to pledge for Reaper's Bones KS, but the lackluster zombies and other sculpts I was only semi-interested in, as well as the higher price was a second year of not buying Bones. Anastyr's price per mini was the same as Reaper's core, but the mini's are "bigger" and I know from Mythic Battles : Pantheon that their miniature quality is good enough for me (and my wallet). I still have my KDM and Dark Swords Stephanie Law miniatures if I ever have enough talent to paint something better!

!

I don't really understand why they haven't built their own factory yet, after so many problems with getting things from China. It's not as if they are short on cash, they makes tens of millions a year on KS alone. It's why I have so much more faith in the Dungeons and Lazers stuff, they've got their own set up, they don't hit you with "unexpected" price increases and they ship early. It can't be that expensive surely, for a company producing on the scale of Cmon?

Good question. CMON's located in Singapore, so I'd expect them to have close ties with Asian manufacturers. I don't think owning their own factory would keep them from raising shipping costs? Wouldn't be surprised if any savings CMON would get is kept in the company to pointlessly list themselves on more stock exchanges or something.

Anyway, for those who want to spend $15 for some campsite bling on their evil barbaric minions, Galladoria Games, located in USA USA USA has this offering in Siocast. $35 painted. Free USA USA USA shipping at $50.

Maybe you could use the braziers as totems if you're not buying the terrain packs?

Well the pledge manager has opened as shipping is as scary as i thought it would be

again i don't think mythic is padding the amounts, but lots of posters in the commx pledgeents do

sadly i dont think the value is there for me even for just the core box, but hey, thats why i only went in for a euro

I went all in expecting a high shipping but it was even more, at $140, to the US then I was expecting (which was around $100). I'm going to have to be really judicious about crowdfunding until shipping prices dip (if it ever really does) thankfully I tend to only do one big one a year (and rarely at the amount I went in here).

They saw what happened with Marvel Zombies. CMON's usually the first to pass on costs to customers, but anything that CMON does today, the other plastic miniature boardgame does tomorrow. VAT anyone?

Guess they'll be having fun getting their 90% back with all those refunds for other plasticrack KS they're backing.

Dakkanauts already know this, but you can still find miniatures KS that haven't raised shipping rates, or at least are still subsidizing them (though, as Blacklist Games backers have found out, that can mean the project runs out of money). I've passed on Borderlands, Reaper, and Batman, but will succumb to Dungeons and Lasers 4 (made in Poland, not China). Retail, of course, often offers free shipping, and the price of an ELEGOO 3D printer dropped.

$50 shipping for $130 base pledge. $10 more for two $20 terrain sets.

Think the next CMON KS will tell us whether or not KS backers realize that the KS plasticrack party's over?

Possible next CMON KS. : https://www.beastsofwar.com/board-games/cyberpunk-2077-board-game-kickstarter-soon/

I like the theme too much to pass it up. They got me good.

I have the Companion pledge, but was thinking of the Region Terrain Elements expansion for the mini's. Does the Region Terrain Elements upgrade any standees in the Companion pledge? TIA. (I see the picture icons with each element, but am having a frustrating time knowing which icon is which expansion or scenario.)

Core: Jade Sea, The Forge, Queen Anastyr's Fortress
Free Necromancer's Plague: Bone Swamp

I think these Region Terrain Elements correspond with these regions?
Mass Grave: Jade Sea region : Core set.
Dominion Stand : The Forge region: Core set.
Braziers: Core set.
Ballista: Bone Swamp region : Necromancer's Plague SG.

Rune columns : Necropolis of Mad Kings region : Queen's Vow add-on
Bell: Kingdom of Stone Hills region : Fog of Revolt add-on.
Totem of Triad: Frozen Mountains region: Echoes of Abscalon add-on.
Plants: Primordial Jungle region : All-Mothers Secret add-on.

Lemme know if that looks right!

No, the Companion Pledge is just the Core Box and stretch goals, and one of the Stretch Goals was the Core Scenery Expansion. So you already have the upgrade.

Mass grave, ceremonial brasiers are in the rule book so presumably core box

totem of triads = echoes of absalom

Amber spring = queens vow

salvation bell = fog of revolt

mutilators & roots = all mothers secret

can't find any mention of primitive balista or dominion stands

Thanks!

Bought both because... stupidity, I assume.

Some required reading if you're into the overseas plasticrack. Ten years, eh?

I guess the Reaper and Batman PM's will be the next major plastic injection KS to open, so we'll get more info about shipping rates then...

Thanks for letting me know!

Looks like Reaper has their own PM -- especially from the bug reports in Reaper's KS Bones 6 thread. Reaper, run by those wacky accountants, will be charging shipping closer to the actual shipping date. Sounds fairer to me, although Reaper's fairer practices -- who else remembers when they said they would, and I quote, charge "actual shipping" after internationals complained that domestics were being subsidized by them because domestics received free shipping and internationals did not boy that's a lot of words -- resulted in both internationals and domestics paying *more* shipping in the next Bones (and lots of internationals swearing off future funding and that also sounds familiar too

I've been following China a lot (not hard to guess in the Anastyr comments and, while shipping prices have recently dropped because of (let's hear it again) supply chain disruptions, China has yet again un-un-locked-down Shanghai, one of the world's major shipping ports, only a few days ago. With China changing its mind like a newbie Eurogamer you've allowed to have takebacks, IMO, there's no way to tell what will cost how much in the future in that country, so better to take more now, than ask for more later -- but best to ask for shipping charges closer to actual shipping. But, AFAIK, only Reaper is doing this, this is the first time any major plasticrack project has done this, and we don't know how backers will react. Reaper did explicitly not show shipping charge estimates (another anomaly nowadays for KS projects), filtering out anyone who was sensitive to shipping charges (and probably contributing to their lower funding total, which may be fine by Reaper, since, again, it's run by accountants, who may favor a smaller KS during unstable times). Will CMON follow suit for its next KS, or will it be lowballed CMON estimated shipping costs as usual because backers will still bend -- er, CMON can still pull in the big bucks? For now, I still think it's more likely for shipping prices in the long run to go up than down, because Xi has tied his political power to its "zero CoVid policy", I haven't seen either other countries replacing China for manufacturing (Vietnam seems promising, though), short-term supply chain disruptions notwithstanding, worldwide inflation is going up, and shipping prices historically have been that way.

So. What's the latest about $200 high-resolution 3D printers that don't have fumes?
