Right, many have done that. But I know Jake has been very vocal about ignoring most of these changes. So I don't see how he can defend such seasons as good for the game or keeping us from changing editions when he doesn't use them at all.

GT missions pack is going to be a hugely different game now compare to without. Also narrative is no longer as balance bc some of the "army balance updates" moved out of the Army FAQs and into the Dataslate which is not meant for narrative or even basic match play (which is not the same as GT). Players are now legally to GW rules can play 2 completely different Match Play Games..... I really hate how they are doing all of this.
Are you sure about the dataslate not applying to non- GT Matched? Because it says it's for universal matched play right at the top of the page....
SOrry Correct, But its not for open or narrative (I miss remembered it).
I guess that makes my job simpler for Open Play games. But wow that's a huge swing for our various Necron players now. Damn.
We had a kid really love the changes and start Necrons after seeing a game with an always on Command Protocol. It really screws over folks with no Nobles (why the Royal Warden doesn't have it, I'll never understand).
We burned grocery money so the kids could get into 40k on a Recruit box.
You do know that with Narrative & Open you can just add the rules you like in, don't you? Open & Narrative are the flexible 40k.
It's why I comment that when we play matched & ignore the 10vp thing for painting we're really playing Open - just with 99% of Matched.
So if you burned grocery $ & are enjoying the changes you're good.

You have a 20% win rate?
Or that's what others have achieved?
If it's the latter, why's that matter for wether YOU play?
My army does. It's the only army I have painted, and it matters because I'm much closer to the average than the outlier. When Eldar were winning 60-70% and I played eldar, I did really well. When Black Templars are at 26%, that also reflects in my games. I can't believe you're even asking why I would rather spend my time playing a game where I feel that I have a 50% chance of winning when I show up rather than a 25% chance. I don't care enough about GW or 40k to show up and play every weekend when the game is unbalanced and/or not fun. Even if the current state of the game was balanced, I don't find it to be a whole lot of fun. I do have fun playing Infinity or 30k. Hope that solves the great mystery for you.

Personally, I just kind of assume that things like the Balance Dataslate apply across the whole of 40k. My little family Crusade is using it all, like Armor of Contempt. Meanwhile, I just totally NOPED Nephilim. I'm beginning to think I'm too old for super-competitive Warhammer, so I'm sitting out the tournaments for now. If I feel the need to use Matched Play, I'll dig out Tempest of War.

One of their light walkers carried a weapon of lethal effect. It fired a form of ultra-high velocity projectile. I saw one of our tanks after having been hit by it. There was a small hole punched in either flank - one the projectile's entry point, the other its exit. The tiny munition had passed through the vehicle with such speed that everything within the hull not welded down had been sucked out through the exit hole. Including the crew. We never identified their bodies, for all that remained of them was a red stain upon the ground, extending some twenty metres from the wreck.
Bow before the Greater Good, gue'la. |

For sure 100% but the point was its not an actual "game change" and a "Match play change" open and narrative can be whatever you want it to be anyways.
