Krieg are crippled by "no model no rules". You can take three special weapons but only two of them can be good weapons, and you lose one of those two good weapons if you want a vox.

So for duplicates, if you replace a plasma gun with a vox, one of your other special weapon picks still can't be a plasma weapon?

As written, yes. It's a very wordy datasheet that essentially says you can take any 2 non-duplicate non-plasma specials, and a 3rd guy must have a mandatory plasma or vox.

Yeah its super odd, especially since its pretty trivial to build the vox and plasma from the kit

Catachan gets 2 flamers + vox + Catachan keyword-based strat benefits + higher points cost than Cadians (do Catachan get any extra wargear options...meltamine maybe?)

Nope, not at all. They just have whats in the box: two flame throwers, vox, and that's it. Nothing for the sargent like, at all. And not mines.

Catachans then have some strats, and kriegs some fun resistance rules... BUT cadians can totally have the transhuman rule thanks to a 1 CP strat. And don't have to sacrifice the plasma for a vox.

Sooooo the way i see it this codex really tries very hard for you to buy cst. Which sucks a little because its now the only way i have to find a way to use all my spetial weapons, now unusable otherwise thanks to Veterans and spetial weapon squads being ilegal now

It is true. I had no idea. I did mine so long ago I forgot all my specials were metal. I already had a lot of specials to allow me to mix and match but I guess those are now not possible to use.

Also I just noticed the Catachan Command Squad is no longer available. That had all the plastic weapons in it. Any reason for that being scrapped?

Of course you can still get heavy weapons so I wonder why they were dropped.
