I've painted and am currently playing 20 of the old, metal wraithguard. I used to have a couple of the little guys too, but I don't know what's happened to them.

I have finally found a little spark of cleverness in the melting remnants of my brain, so now I've got some bitz to order!

Quite excited about this one…

I don't think I've ever finished a painting challenge, but now my kids are older, and I started a new job where I work 3 days a week, so I should have time.

I have a 4-man squad of Mandalorian Super Commandos for Star Wars: Legion, and Rook Kast. Built, I'll be priming them this week. "Paradigm" it is.

Oh my. I haven't managed to finish anything since like a year but really can't let this round pass :p
Someone help me decide:
- Triumph of Katherine (Celebration)
or
- Griffith Sigvald (Paradigm)
I'm collecting Sisters so Triumph should eventually happen, anyway, but the Sigvald mini is kinda interesting as a painting project, too ...

I know I got some people psyched with those Eldar Ghost Warriors I showed in this thread, but right now I have zero motivation to work on them...

Normally I'd say Sisters because St. Kathy is a really cool model. But if you're having trouble finishing things at the moment, maybe painting what is effectively a squad of Sisters with a huge scenic base isn't the best idea? It's pretty fiddly and there's a bit of repetition. Sigvald seems like a much more straightforward choice.

As a reminder, you can pick your topic from any of the previous topics used over the course of the challenge, not just celebration/paradigm. So if you need to find some motivation, dig around and see what fires a spark.

I know there would be zero chance of me finishing something like the Triumph in a month. But different people paint at different rates. And if you are motivated, amazing progress can happen.

And because I’m crazy...

I’ve got 99 problems, but missing a competition is not one.

Okay I've got it more or less ready without breaking any of the parts, so this'll be me for June:

The theme is Celebration, because what more joyous occasion is there than a birth? Y'see, when a mommy and a daddy love each other very much, and mommy has a book of summoning rites and a bunch of invasive surgical tools and daddy's been nailed to the ground so he can't get away...

Yeah Ima go out of comfort zone and instead of just making 1 .. I'll make all five "vampire" knights into glorified wood elf knights extraordinaire (mainly because I have too many elf heads laying around and my wood elf army can use some more (hah! more?..oh my word) mounted folk.. (stop making mounted folk leopold, you've got way too many of those already for sun'sake) (i cannot, the woods are vast and require four legged travelers) (what?)

Anyway, will be a nice way to showcase my custom made dark gold my elf army is decorated with.

You can’t start painting

Building/assembly/basic solid prime coat can all be done before the start of the competition.

So crack open the box, start cleaning mold lines, and do what sub-assemblies you want. Just don’t put a brush on it until the 1st.

If we had to go from sprue to final in under a month, I’d have made like 3 of these comps.

Kinda funny. Halfway through the year and I’ve painted a total of one blue Ultramarine. These guys will get the snow camo cloaks, cut from the same cloth as the phobos guys.

Armor will be grey, instead of the black I use for the rest of the craftworld. Leather also shifts down to a paler cut. Still bright red helmets and ribbons. Because real camo is boring and effective.
Spoiler:

These guys started my snow camo. Part of my recon exchange program. My SM scouts were in forest camo, which helped them infiltrate and observe my Eldar with their maiden world grass green bases. So my Rangers got arctic camo to scope out my Ultras on their snowy terrain. When Primaris were introduced, I decided to mix it up and have the new guys match their bases. But now we’ve come full circle. The camo that was starter for my rangers was taken over to the phobos line, where it was practiced and improved. And now it returns.

Here are my entries. As I so hopefully said earlier, I'm going to try and get more models painted this time around than I manage on the average month.

Topic: Celebration

The president of Cubana after the election. Presidente salutes his people after an overwhelming 102% of the voters expressed their faith in him.

The president of Terra Nova. Mr. President lights a Fat Banan™ after a long day at the office. Budget meetings are the worst.

Ganjaman celebrating, umm, let me see, uh, that it's... Right! That it's Tuesday morning. Like... Wait! It's Wednesday. Totally celebrating that it's Wednesday, I repeat, Wednesday morning! Morningish. Anyway...

Mostly, on my phone.

So, I'm going to be going with a Paradigm or 3:

The Queens of the Adriatic, promo alt-sculpt leaders for the 3 (!) Carnevale factions we own. Having primed them, I got a... bit over-excited and started putting down some colours on the water before remembering today is 31st, not the 1st - hope that's ok.

Ugh, I'm trying to think of something good for the challenge (since I've lost all desire to work on Eldar ghosties) and I'm drawing a total blank.

I need to finish up a WFB chaos army this month, so I'm going to revisit the We Are Legion challenge. I managed 11 models for this last time, hopefully I can improve on that this time

What’s on deck? What are your current projects? What are you looking forward to paint?

With the ability to pick a topic from the entirety of the challenge, it’s going to be easier to find a topic to match your mini then a mini to match the topic.

It’s June. Time to get painting! Remember that you can enter at any time, so don’t worry if you showed up late. And can pick from any old topic plus the two new ones, so no excuses for nothing that matches!

100 months. Wow. Let’s have some fun!

My proof pic, just assembled the main bodies of my -wood elf knights- made from kitbashing (heads, weps and shields anyway) vampire knights.

I think these vampire knights really lend themselves well to the aesthetic of the wood elves.

Currently? I've been painting a hodge podge of fantasy-themed models for my upcoming comic, Big Fantasy Epic. Unfortunately my schedule makes painting sporadic. Like, I finished an excellent Conquistador Ogre last night because I had time.

I suppose I could do it like when I worked on "We Are Legion" where I snapped a WIP proof photo of everything I touched and made my proof photo a collage of everything I managed to finish (and then posted my final pics and proof pic all at once).

I guess my entry could fuilfill a few of the different challenges, but I'll aiming for paradigm. A space marine standard bearer should exemplify everything a space marine should be. The most space marine of space marines.

Right. Here goes. Legion revisited it is!

The Xeno forces from my Zombicide: Invader pledge! 50-odd workers, 20 hunters, 8 flingers, a bunch of tanks, the awesomely named Xenomoths and a range of Abominations.

Contrasts/Xpress paints at the ready. Just need to get a finalised scheme sorted.
