Well, first GW opened the bag with Votan first. And second with the eldar index and point costs leaked, I can imagine that some people, especialy those who had the rules a lot sooner then other, may not be very happy how One army shapes up to look.

GW didn't "ban" anything though, they reacted to community backlash against the points of a fully leaked army in an established environment. Also the eldar points are not leaked to my knowledge, they're knee jerking with "insider info" tip off.

Well you should follow russian forums more then. To me changes after pre orders are out and people bought stuff or ordered recasts is banning of stuff. But if the strickt word "ban" is the thing you don't agree, then no problem. GW can then make the same thing they did with Votan. "React to community backlash against the points of a fully leaked army" and do something about eldar rules. But then again they do it with eldar rule set every edition, that has an eldar codex. So at this point, being suprised that eldar have game breaking over the top rules is not much of a suprise.

At least if marines struggle against Eldar they can just try one of the other five detachments they have available until they find the one that works best.

The rest of us though...

Personally i am looking forward to an influx of former CSM players getting completly fed up and joining HH aswell as the big release being out of the way for GW to finish up HH and start with the old world.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

A game where I spend more time making interesting, non-obvious, impactful decisions and less rolling dice, shuffling cards and consulting random tables.

Wait, these are my hopes for 11th edition now.

NEW TYRANID MODELS

I would be upset about rebasing units, but having had to rebase hundreds of Night Goblins and Skaven for AoS has really numbed me to that.

Because we don't look forward to it. It's just our duty.

I was looking forward to toned down complexity so my gaming group would play games a bit faster. Now i've seen it, I'm pretty upset that we've gone from chess to ludo

This is a fun thread question

For me it's "Streamlined balanced rules, that will go to h3ll after the first codex comes out"

Keep up these posts, I also greatly enjoyed the 10e ridiculous rumors thread

Having seen the datasheets released, I'm actually wondering/hoping we could see some multiple list/build variety. It feels like they set up a bunch of one-two unit combos that can be slotted in and/or out fairly easily. Its still a little early to tell if they're points viable and 6 of one half dozen of the other equal in "power".

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

Wait, have you just compared wh40k to chess?

Have you played Warmachine?

Surely you meant checkers?

Personally I'm looking forward to checking each of my units' data slates each phase for fear of forgetting to do something, since every single unit has at least one bespoke triggered ability now.

People don't for get this is like the 4th rules reboot.

2nd, 3rd, and 8th IIRC. It's not like we haven't been down this road before.

Nice simple starter army lists, no piles of special rules, all the stats in one place...

And then along come Codex Eldar, or Space Wolves or whatever and it all goes to heck. Then each codex is part of an arms race to top the last one and we see fans of different armies sneaking in their pet projects and ideas to make their army extra special and...

We start screaming for a rules reboot.

40k is game made to be good enough to keep players playing, but also inherently broken to keep players on the treadmill of new rules and supplements.

It is not meant to be a fun, balanced, or simple game, it's there to drive quarterly sales of miniatures.

This is not cynicism. This is the game from 1987 to today. And it's why GW is still in business while TSR, Grenadier, Ral Partha and FASA are not.

Have you read the datasheets they've released so far? Each Gladiator variant has its own unique special rule, and it only gets worse from there.

6 Carnifexes, one Old One Eye and 3 Screamer Killers is your limit assuming detachments don't change what counts as Battleline.

It's gonna be funny that Imperials can field a bigger dead mob than Orks At least Until the Dreadmob detachment gives battleline

But what's the limit given 2k pts to work with? That's the question.

Well carnies are around 125pts now and seeing point scale doesn't seem to be drastically different(ie everything doesn't cost twice what it used more or less) and those fit now odds are good all.

Points might be tad cheaper overall in 10th. Couple 1.5 armies been oddly large though didn't make detailed comparison(especially with new units)
