Do not add tank hunters. You will either roll that 6 for rending, or you wont. Tank hunters will only help against armour value 12 or less, and you should have other stuff to take out those targets, but massed assault cannon fire will kill them regardless.

Except for AR12 skimmers like falcons, wave serpents, devilfish, etc. With skimmers moving fast, the number of glancing hits is much more important than raw armor penetration. Tank hunter assault cannons double the average number of damaging hits you get on these vehicles. If you run the numbers you find that a plain assault cannon is slightly more effective against AR12 skimmers than a lascannon/autocannon/rapid plasma (which are all the same). But a tank-hunting assault cannon is twice as effective--in fact it's the most effective weapon in the SM armory against AR12 skimmers.

This was the list I used in a 3 way "Secure and Control Mission" against Tyranids and Necrons.  It was 1500 points and it was a draw between me and the Tyranid player.  Although at the end I had lost a lot of troops, tough I did kill a lot.  The necrons were kind of at the other side of the table while the Tyranid player and I were locked in combat most of the game.  I rushed the Rhino and the Razorback in the first turn to a huge squad of Hormagaunts and disembarked them so they could rapid fire with bolters and Plasma.  I backed them up with the Assault squad.  I did okay but again i lost a lot of troops after that initial rush.

I just finished painting 2 Ravenwing Tornado Land Speeders and will have them for tomorrow, which is when I face the Tyranid horde again.

Not to hijack the thread here but I think it would help you fight against Tyranids more if your dread had the dreadnought fist and a heavy flamer, especially if you are drop podding. Also I think that your chaplain doesnt need master crafted or asupex and will probably hardly ever need bionics. Give that plasmsa pistol to your assault squad and give a bolt pistol to your chaplain, its less wounds against him. Oh and also make sure that the sergeant doesnt have a plasma pistol because you probably want to keep that powerfist.
