Me_Person: You can take empty chimeras as Elite choices? I'd rather him take a vanquisher or something as an ace, but that's just me. Capt K

I think if you take siege company doctrine your aces and command tanks can only be chimeras, though that might only apply to command tanks. I'll check then reply again. Also, if he changed it to a vanquisher then we would have 1 less basilisk. We got really messed up by 2 basilisks and 2 defilers, so if we take 4 basilisks in 1 list, we still have room for the potentail of another list taking indirect.

I agree with Lazarus, Warrior 50. It was a mistake in the general giving you that mission. I should have had that mission since I had the mobile units to get it. You should have had my mission... as one movement phase would have been all you needed to get to it. plus once you are there you had enough bodies to hold it all game. Again, if we planned better as a team we would have avoided that pitfall. Don't get discouraged. We'll get them in the next one. Capt k

True but a BS4 vanquisher is mighty tasty. But you are correct. Lobbing death into people is more fun. Just ask Mahu...hehe. Last night my Griffon gave him fits! Capt K

Hey guys. This is Jason M, who some of you met at the Necro as the guy behind the computer. Let me know if you need one more for the next one of these events. Sounds like it was a great time. I play IG (Steel Legion / mechanized primarily), although I don't have enough games under my belt to be a real threat. I always enjoy playing though, and with some list advice, perhaps I can help out.
Thanks, Jason M.

The more the merrier I say. Regardless of you skill level we would still welcome you to the team regardless. For list advice, hit up the Army list section of the forum. Post your list and you'll get some great advice from some great IG players. As always Me_Person, Mahu, Lazarus, and myself are at Sci-Fi every Saturday if you have additional questions or are up for a game. Capt K

I'll have to stop by for a game. Will the next event be 1000 pts per player as well, or is that not known yet? James, were you the organizer? What point level do you guys usually play on Saturday's down at Sci Fi? I am just full of questions!

The Megabattle event was 1000pts. The FOC for that was 1 HQ, 2+ troops, 0-1 Elites, 0-1Fast Attack, 0-1 Heavy I think. As for Saturdays, most people play with 1850pt - 2000pt lists for standard 40K games and 1500pt lists for CoD games. But everyone is pretty flexible if your list aren't up to that size yet...just tellin' ya the most common build sizes that people play. Capt K

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks. I can pretty easily field 2000+ points of IG, but I need to work on what would be the most effective lists. I sort of built it around just what I liked, etc. and not what would do well on the battlefield. Thanks, Jason

The more the merrier for sure! I think we will stick at 1000 points for the mega event otherwise we may see simply too much on the table without enough time to move it all. Lazarus.

Captain K, and others, the IG army I normally play is the standard Cadian list with the 7 doctrines for the Cadians. Both Iron Discipline and Sharpshooters are in that list as well as Grendiers, Storm Troopers, Psychers (another name for the robed freks), special weapons squads and one more I can not remember now. I have looked at running a DROP Company Army as well. I think I have enough Heavy weapons teams to do at least 1 platoon. I have the vehicles to do Mechanized as well as enough tanks to do a small Armored Company. Have the Chapter Approved article for the Armored Company. As far as lasercannons go I have a bunch. Each Armored Fist squad has one and then I have 6 more, I think. When I buy a heavy weapons kit I build all the weapons, have scrach built a lot of tripods and blast shields. One of my main platoons has all heavy bolters and the other has all missle launchers. The third and forth platoon are mixed units with heavy bolters and missle launchers. Auto cannons are in my platoon command squads. Anyway will talk to you all later as I must get back to work. Warrior 50

Lazarus; Had you thought of raising the points for the force to 1500 instead of 1000? Anyway just need to know so I can plot with the guys to bring a better force of Imperial Guard. When did you plan to do the Eldar War you were talking about??? Warrior 50

I'd consider raising the point total if we had fewer players. However, at 21,000 points last game we still had a unit here or there that did not get to do what it was supposed to...imagine having 50% more units on top of that? I think we would have some irritated people and this is supposed to be all about having fun! As far as the Eldar event I'm not sure at the moment. The logistics involved in carting down 20,000+ points of my Eldar are daunting to say the least. I'm also still painting the phantom titan as well as a few other odd pieces that hadn't gotten finished yet. Lazarus.

Ok yes I see your point, the game took longer than I had thought it would with 21 players so I am ok with 1000. Just let me know and I will try to be there. Warrior 50

August 5th is the next event. So far it will indeed be the same FOC restrictions from last game (1000 pts 1 HQ 2+ TROOP 0-1 ELITE / FAST / HEAVY) Lazarus.
